  1. Gut feelings become more accurate with experience. On the female side, it's called women's intuition. On the male side, it's called a gut feeling. In general, men are less observant than women, so tend to overlook the nuances of developing situations. Been there, done that. I've got a gut feeling that you feel your marriage is in jeopardy. You need to address the situation before you ship out again, otherwise that gut feeling will gnaw your guts out until you return.

  2. Glad to hear it. I'm thoroughly impressed with them. At this point I'm still standing by my liking them better than my Pluton. I feel like they perform every bit as well, without the price tag.

  3. My boat I tried the footpump once and was a 20+ minute workout for me the electric pump 7minutes. A person in better shape could no doubt do it quicker. I still take the footpump with just incase the electric one goes out. I can be launched in 20-25minutes I looked at yours and they say 5minute set-up time the pontoons dont hold the amount of air my boat does.

  4. Bro, I'm not familiar with your living arrangements but did she tell you he was coming over? If she didn't, then I'm telling him to get out and I don't care if she gets embarrassed or mad. That is pure disrespect. Do you really want this guy coming over when you're not home and your kids thinking it's ok. Geez, I wouldn't even go to my best friends house to hang out with his wife if he wasn't home. Guys just don't do that to eachother. And why is your sister allowing her to hang with this guy? It's sooo easy for us to sit here and pass judgement without knowing all the details, but we can't help it. Let me tell you this in "cop" talk. Probable cause is a set of circumstances or events that would lead a REASONABLE person to believe a crime is being, has been or is about to be committed. Probable cause is all that's needed to make an arrest. In the court room, the State has to PROVE beyond a reasonable doubt that the crime was committed. Now, why am I telling you this? Because based on what you've told us so far, I would say you have probable cause (or dang close to it) to believe something is going on and it aint bible study. When I was in your shoes, all I needed was probable cause (not proof) to leave.

  5. Understanding Engineers #1 Two engineering students were biking across a university campus when one said, "Where did you get such a great bike?" The second engineer replied, "Well, I was walking along yesterday, minding my own business, when a beautiful woman rode up on this bike, threw it to the ground, took off all her clothes and said, "Take what you want." The first engineer nodded approvingly and said, "Good choice: The clothes probably wouldn't have fit you anyway." Understanding Engineers #2 To the optimist, the glass is half-full. To the pessimist, the glass is half-empty. To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be. Understanding Engineers #3 A priest, a doctor, and an engineer were waiting one morning for a particularly slow group of golfers. The engineer fumed, "What's with those guys? We must have been waiting for fifteen minutes!" The doctor chimed in, "I don't know, but I've never seen such inept golf!" The priest said, "Here comes the greens-keeper. Let's have a word with him." He said, "Hello George, What's wrong with that group ahead of us? They're rather slow, aren't they?" The greens-keeper replied, "Oh, yes. That's a group of blind firemen. They lost their sight saving our clubhouse from a fire last year, so we always let them play for free anytime!." The group fell silent for a moment. The priest said, "That's so sad. I think I will say a special prayer for them tonight." The doctor said, "Good idea. I'm going to contact my ophthalmologist colleague and see if there's anything she can do for them." The engineer said, "Why can't they play at night?" Understanding Engineers #4 What is the difference between mechanical engineers and civil engineers? Mechanical engineers build weapons. Civil engineers build targets. Understanding Engineers #5 The graduate with a science degree asks, "Why does it work?" The graduate with an engineering degree asks, "How does it work?" The graduate with an accounting degree asks, "How much will it cost?" The graduate with an arts degree asks, "Do you want fries with that?" Understanding Engineers #6 Three engineering students were gathered together discussing who must have designed the human body. One said, "It was a mechanical engineer. Just look at all the joints." Another said, "No, it was an electrical engineer. The nervous system has many thousands of electrical connections." The last one said, "No, actually it had to have been a civil engineer. Who else would run a toxic waste pipeline through a recreational area?" Understanding Engineers #7 Normal people believe that if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Engineers believe that if it ain't broke, it doesn't have enough features yet. Understanding Engineers #8 An engineer was crossing a road one day, when a frog called out to him and said, "If you kiss me, I'll turn into a beautiful princess." He bent over, picked up the frog, and put it in his pocket. The frog spoke up again and said, "If you kiss me, I'll turn back into a beautiful princess and stay with you for one week." The engineer took the frog out of his pocket, smiled at it and returned it to the pocket. The frog then cried out, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a princess, I'll stay with you for one week and do anything you want." Again, the engineer took the frog out, smiled at it and put it back into his pocket. Finally, the frog asked, "What is the matter? I've told you I'm a beautiful princess and that I'll stay with you for one week and do anything you want. Why won't you kiss me?" The engineer said, "Look, I'm an engineer. I don't have time for a girlfriend, but a talking frog - now that's cool."

  7. As a general rule, single guys don't invest that much time with someone else's wife unless there's some kind of "reward". If there's nothing going on between them right now, it's just because the right opportunity hasn't presented itself.

  8. b/c it makes one rod multi-functional which is exact question/purpose of the post. he wants to use his frog rod (w/ braid)...add a leader and use as t-rig. if you only had 12lb fluoro on the reel you would not be able to go frog fishing.

  9. pflueger does not have the spool washers like the shimanos have. i have returned the president and got my full money back and put that money towards a new shimano. i repeat myself once again, you may think a TOP END st croix is better then a $50 rod and some may not. it is all personal preference IMO. by stating you find it hard to believe a $50 rod is better then your "top end" st croix is your opinion and what works for some may not work for others.

  10. It stops being a gut feeling when the evidence is insurmountable....... Sorry mate, but your gut is right. And if not, you need to tell her how you feel and if she can't respect that, she doesn't deserve to be your wife because she doesn't love you like one. From one soldier to another: wives don't make guy "friends" that are just friends while you are gone. It just doesn't happen. Sorry to be so blunt bro, but that's just the way she goes. {abe} It should go without saying that I'm just some random dude on the interwebz and my advice should NOT be taken as matter of fact. I don't know you or your wife personally and am solely taking you at your word without hearing the whole story. Bro code and all that.

  11. I don't have any 3XD cranks but I would think they would use a size #6 treble so if you go with the KVD elite triple grip short shank you could go up to a size #4.

  12. The mustad KVD short shank ewg trebles work great. And you can step up to the next bigger size on your cranks because of the short shanks.

  13. Well everyone is different, but I know if I was to ask my wife to see her phone (which I never would) she would never hesitate for one minute. Also my wife would never "hang out" with another guy just out of respect for me. To talk to someone at a social gathering or say hello once in awhile on the phone is normal, to hang around with and text all day long with someone else is not! I hope everything works out for you.

  17. The Avids seem to have a real different power to them than most rods of the same rating, Id suggest seeing if you can fish one before you buy one. BUT... they are really nice rods NGaHB

  18. Not all lakefront properties are the same. MANY developments here in florida have lakefront property. The lakes were dug to make the house pads. Anyway, if the lake is surrounded by homes, then the homeowner does not own out to the middle of the lake. In fact, every home on the lake has an easement which allows any person living on the lake to be able to walk the entire shoreline w/out trespassing. This means I can walk out my back door, walk to the edge of the water and walk along the bank behind as many houses as I want and it's not trespassing. Sure, the homeowners can fence their yard, but the fence can't go to the water's edge. Usually it's several feet from the waters edge up towards your house that is "common" property. I'm not saying this is true to every development, but it might be wise to check with your HOA, if there is one.

  19. With the sales for the Sahara at $50.00, thats a deal that would be very hard to pass up if you get the Sahara go with 2500 or 3000 size, you will be happy with this reel, the pfluger is nice but at 50 bucks this is a steel!

  20. I have a SeaEagle 124SMB with 55# tm it scoots nicely one should make your pontoon with less drag & weight really go. Try out your foot pump a few times to see how it goes but I went ahead and got a powered pump so much easier. While its doing the work you can do other things to get ready a bit of a time saver.

  22. Me and my wife both had facebook. I wouldnt ever say facebook was the problem. But women will never see things like a man does. After a few jealous fits by my wife. Over nothing. I suggested we both delete our facebooks. Afterall anyone who wants to be in your life was there before facebook and will continue to be after. If they cant contact you in any other way then they really don't care for you. Its been a few months now, since we deleted them. and Im happy to say our marriage has never been better. in fact The last arguement we had was when we both had an account. If she feels the need to stay connected via Social media. Suggest she make a Twitter. as they are far less personal. but still satisfys her urge to creep on people.

  24. With the exception of my ultralight trout rod (flouro only) and my slop rod (60# braid only,) all off my rods are loaded with 30# braid and a flouro leader. That includes both baitcasting and spinning. That combination gives you the best of both worlds.

  26. First off, you got a graet deal on that reel. The most versatile bass casting rod is a 6'6"-7' Med-Hvy/Fast. Since you're fishing mostly open water you can probably get away with a Med power but I don't see the point since you also have spinning gear for the lighter stuff. I'd up the line a little also to around 15-17# mono or 50# braid. This would work for your main techniques but also give you lots of flexibility.

  27. The side cover wouldn't be the deal breaker for me. To me and I have said this before, a floating level wind, where the line guide floats when disengaged would be the biggest improvement in my 200GTB I would wish for. I tune reels so when I did my own super tune on my GTB it was smoother than a TE from the factory. The narrower spool is a bigger deal to me as Jay stated, there was less severe angle when paying line out, that is the biggest downfall with my tuned 200GTB, the line guide is very close to the wider spool and does change tension on the fish as it pays out line against the drag, the other problem is when casting, making sure the guide is centered when going into free spool is more critical on that reel than my others, it will play a big role on casting accuracy and distance. Probably to much to ask for but the TE200GT, or even the CT200GTB, upgraded like the D with side plate and Floating level wing on disengagement with floating level wind when drag is being played out would be my dream reel, w/ the gearing to pickup 28" of line per turn of the handle!! that would be NICE!!

  28. If building a frog rod I'd use a light salt water blank. It'll have plenty of backbone with a little softer tip to help with long casts back into the weeds.

  29. Black is the general color that will get suggested. Jigs, big worms, spinnerbaits seem to be the best producers but many other lures will work. Noisy top waters are also popular

  30. I turn them out threw the gil plate with pliers. But i caught a bass a few years ago with what looked like a stick with slime on it hanging out its butt.i grabbed my pliers and got it out the bass, turns out it was a 2/0 g-lock hook. Not sure if the bass would have passed it the rest of the way,but it was heathy as any other fish i released, and sure he was happy he saw me that day.
