  3. Good news! For anyone paying a lot of attention I just recently bought a deep cranking combo and have been trying to figure out the tricks to fishing those deep running baits. Well I was digging through my deep diving crankbait box and what do I uncover? My Zell pop!! No idea why I put it in there but man was I happy to see it! I just got my second backup bait in the mail today so now I have 2 extras and my allstar probowler popper back! Now I just need to get my 50E topwater reel back from getting supertuned and the water to cool down a little bit so they'll start eating a little better and maybe I can get it back in some action!

  7. Just got it in the mail today. Reel was literally NIB and fully sealed in original package. Inspected it and everything is as it should be. Upgrading bearings in a few minutes and on the water it goes tonight. Ebay is going to be addictive.

  8. That's an ok fish, but not a monster for the south. I'll show you a monster when I fish Falcon in November with Big O. His PB outta that lake is almost 20lbs.

  10. One foggy morning (in my head and not on the water) I forgot to trim the motor down prior to blast off. The guys in the club called it "The Moon Shot!" as I tail-walked down the lake, me stabbing the trim button as hard as I could and my partner finally having the nerve to crawl to the bow to help get the nose down. I can't imagine wanting to do that on purpose, but from the lack of reaction of the guys standing on the dock, I'm sure this boater thinks he has mastered the move.

  11. Let's start with the "I & We" portion of your post. If you are the only person involved you shouldn't have a problem, but if you are involved with another individual(s) this venture should be formed as some type of partnership or perhaps an LLC. You need some way to keep track of how much cash, time, or anything else (in many partnerships you can put a value on ideas) that you want to place a value on for potential reimbursement. With regards to patent protection of your invention, there is only one way to go about it. Initially the cost is rather low if you do this yourself and then hire an attorney if the product shows promise. Visit the government's patent office and file the initial patent application(s). There are two types of patents that you could recieve. There is a utility patent and a design(?) patent that you can seek. This filing provides you with what is called "patent pending" protection until a complete patent search is done. The last I knew, this gives you about a full year to move onto the next phase of the patent process. At this point, it is the date showing on your application that protects your idea from someone else copying it, and should be filed prior to outsourcing any help in bringing your product to market. This also gives you the time needed to find a reputable patent attorney. Food for thought: There are times when an idea is worth following through on but the money needed to take it to market is more than the inventor can handle. If you feel strongly enough about your invention but can't find the funds, you may want to try selling the idea to a manufacturer that has the resources to complete the project. You won't get as much money as you may have carrying it all the way to market, but your risk and investment will be much less. This could give you the capital needed for your next idea. Because there's always one more invention that needs to be looked at. Good Luck!

  12. Bluebasser, as you get older you will tell people off. I have started doing it and it is fun. Tired of taking it and smiling and walking away. If you include cuss words it knocks your opponent off their track and you win the discussion!

  16. By it's name a Senko sinks due to the heavy salt content. Try drop shotting Senko wacky rigged. The Senko will stay in front of the basses nose at the depth you set the hook above the weight. Another choice is use a fat body high flotation worm like Roboworms 6" fat boy worm. Tom

  20. Another way to drag is to do the Erie drag, as taught to me by a "Good" smallmouth fisherman. Cast your tube out with enough weight to keep it on the bottom and just let the wind drift the boat while you drag the tube .

  21. Going to have to agree with the two above me. If you cast anything like you type... YIKES

  22. I thought the Pittsburgh classic was one of the best as of late! Yes the weight was horrible but it showed you how good these guys really are! Also, the coverage was some of the best with lots of hours on espn and it was put together extremely well!

  25. X2 Older anglers be careful out there, the heat can sneak up on you quickly; don't be afraid of jumping in the water to cool off if things get bad, you need to drop your body temp. I'm 65 and in average shape,, which means I'm a physical wreck I was out one day last week, it was very hot - in the upper 90's, I drank two bottles of water and two bottles of gator-aide during the day and it wasn't enough. When I realized the heat was getting to me I wet down my buff and shirt, and headed in to the ramp about 45 min away. By the time I reached the ramp I was feeling bad and unsteady on my feet; when I got to my truck I ran the A/C on max and just sat there until I recovered enough to get the boat and head home. I actually considered going to the ER, but I know the routine and did it at home but it still took a day or so before I felt better, Be extra careful in the high temp and the sun while your on the water. Also, if your on medications make yourself aware of how they respond to sun and heat, some med's can make you sensitive to the sun; talk to your doctor about being out on the water in these conditions, and review your meds with them.

  26. I hate this 'debate' (this is not an argument, yet). I really do. Although, I feel I now need to present the facts. In my opinion, no caliber is superior to any other. They all a up's and down's. As an army veteran, I can guarantee you I would rather tote around my 240Bravo any day over an M249. Fire rate be damned. The .308 is far superior to the .223 on the battle field, ballistically speaking. But that's at a stand point of penetration and kinetic energy at range. The debate is simple. A .45 Auto is often sub sonic out of the muzzle, especially from a shorter barreled weapon like my XD or a Glock 30. The advantage here is lessening collateral damage. When I chose the caliber I did, it wasn't because it was bigger than any other, or because it was synonymous with 'lore'... It was because it's a sub sonic round, carrying with it over 600 ft/lb of kinetic energy at 25 yards, but less than 900fps. To me, this is important. In the event of an actual defensive situation, You HOPE all of your rounds land on-target. In the event that a round passes through a small patch of fatty flesh, the velocity carried by the round after passing through is drastically decreased. Should be be in a home, and a round be discharged through your target at close-range, the round will then stop in the wall of your home. I rest easier knowing that should I ever have to discharge my weapon in my suburban neighborhood my neighbors and their children are not at risk to become 'collateral damage'. There is no 'fire superiority' here... just logic. I'd rather not kill anyone other than the intended target, and I believe I'm a step closer to preventing that by using a sub-sonic caliber. Thanks for you opinion though.
