Dick's Sporting goods that is. My local store is doing the $0.97 sale again. Right know it is 50% off the clearance price. Got sexy shad cranks for $1.47 after discount. My final total was $116.00 worth of stuff for $43.63. Might be worth looking into. Even got an Abu Garcia spinning reel and Berkley lighting rod combo that was $69.99 marked down to $49.97. Got 50% off got it to $24.98. On top of that it has a $20.00 mail-in rebate. I know it is not the best set-up in the world but $4.98 for a rod and reel!!

Try what spots? You mean the spots SirSnook and I mentioned? I fish two tournaments a month, sometimes 3, on the Osborne chain, not to mention practice days. I wouldn't have suggested those spots if they weren't any good.

if someone try's to buy a fish.. someone who already has had rumors of cheating in the past... then he should be turned in.. there are too many guys going crazy in debt trying to make it to allow some rich punk to be using his fathers money to cheat his way to the top.

I used to live in the town of Wescott in Shawano county. The Wolf river was open to fishing all year. That, and your area of Wisconsin is open when the general season is open in May. I'm up in Marinette county around Calderon Falls. Yeah we have a C&R season that opens when the general season opens. We also have an early C&R trout season that opens in March on the Peshtigo. The only way your going to trout fish the Peshtigo anytime in March is with dynamite, at least until around April 1st. I never miss a chance to go fishing with my best friend. My wife..., we have been together 50 years.

I guess it would depend on your requirements to make it the "Bass Fishing Capitol". I like green fish and brown fish so it would have to be somewhere with good access to both but there are several areas and even individual lakes that can claim that. If you were just going purely for big fish I'd have to say Falcon or one of the Cali lakes for green fish and Erie for smalljaws.

I put a lot of guys on 6lbs+ last year, but 7 is VERY special. My partner caught a 10 in 2004 which I netted and weighed. A couple of years ago, i had a bigger fish up to the boat twice. Hey Steve way to go. First picture taken with a fish under 6 lbs in a year. Everybody catches them they just don't take pictures of them.

FLW decided to allow the rig for this coming season. I like the explanation they gave and agree with them. The main jist was they don't believe this lure is the great equalizer that will end all innovation and allow anglers of all skill levels to compete as equals. I concur...the lure is not THAT special.

Poach it. Drop a couple of lemons, halved with the juices squeezed into the water, and some stalks of dried Rosemary in the water as well. Steam until cooked. Start a bechamel sauce (butter, flower, skim milk), and add a couple of tablespoons of that poaching water once you've got a rue. Season with black pepper and Rosemary. Serve the fish on a bed of rice, sauce poured over the top, and some steamed green beans or asparagus on the side.

I am usually out early around 5 or so I just like to listen to nature wake up untill the jet skis and water skiers come out then It's time for tunes. I find fish really like an x rap worked to master of puppets

The Elite angler tournament committee that made that decision because it may cause injury to the bass should do some more soul searching about their fish handling practices. Boat flipping them to the carpet, then putting on a show for the camera before putting the fish in the livewell sure doesn't represent any concern for the fish's well being.

They had those for 3.50 too with an additional 25% off at my local Dick's. I didn't pick any up, now I think I may go back. I was there last week and they had shackey head jigs mislabled on the rack for $0.02 so I picked up the last three packs they had. Had a nice arguement with the lead cashier and ended up meeting the store manager in the isle to show him the rack. They ended up giving them to me for FREE because the cash registers couldn't ring up an amount that low.

Then stop posting - you've made your point, and defended it numerous occasions. I hope the guys I fish with and against do not share you're opinion. This is a hot issue for tournament fisherman, not retired guys fishing off piers or in canals in their spare time - I do not expect you to understand a tournament fisherman's perspective. There is sportsmanship on the line here, along with not an insignificant sum of cash. If you can't understand why breaking the rules isn't a big deal, then agree to disagree, and move on.
