  1. I have a year's worth of Sunline FC Sniper Fluorocarbon for a lucky lunkervillian who answers 3 simple questions in the following survey. That's a 1200 YARD SPOOL, valued at $140!! If you've never used this line, ask your friends about it. It's the industry leader in fluorocarbon. GOOD LUCK! https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/389WYHW

  2. Ok guys. The holidays are upon us, and 2012 is just around the corner. Last year was a good start for our get togethers, but now is a good time to start thinking about next year's schedule. What should we change? What would you like to see? While we are not a formal club, we do need some type of structure and input. Gramps, Tate and I have some ideas, but it's not our show, and we want input from all. We can do some of it via the messenger feature on the forum, or email. Participation in the messaging feature is limited to seven members. You designate a recipient and can add up to five others, making a total of six, plus yourself making a group of seven. Email has unlimited participation. Let's hear from all those interested in the get togethers for 2012. p.s. It's not limited to Mass fishermen, nor is the group limited to Mass waters. It's what you want it to be. March is only three months away for the hardy souls, April four months away.

  3. Hello fellow anglers! My name is Ben. I live in Three Rivers Michigan where I have spent the majority of my life. I have fished since the age of 4 when my dad got me involved in the sport. I have been fishing tournaments for the last 3 years. I finally purchased my first boat 2 years ago! My favorite technique by far is CRANKIN!!! Shallow crankin' medium crankin' and deep crankin' doesn't matter! I will throw crank baits all day long! I will throw em till my arm falls off! Regardless, nothing beats a day on the water!!

  4. Welcome! Maybe we'll get a chance to hit one of the local lakes together this year.

  5. I was thinking the same thing. People ask me all the time why I only fish trout in the winter. Because I can't cast to them in the summer. Now snook and redfish from a kayak or small boat? That might be pretty cool.

  6. You'll break the bills off them before the hooks need replacing. The DT10, 16, and 20 are pretty durable, but I had terrible luck with DT06 breaking. I would use them in open water, and be careful snapping them off weeds. If they ricochet into any hard cover, you might snap the bill. Definitely do not smack them at the water to clear weeds - that's a sure fire way to break them.

  8. I'm trying to get my head around this statement. What part of the knot affects the line further up on the spool? I'm also a little cautious about claims about never breaking off. I rarely break off. I mean RARELY. Like 3-4 times a year. The break offs that I can't explain come one in one hundred of those break offs. They're almost always user error.

  9. 200 is a great all purpose reel, 50 is better for lighter weights, and 300 would be more for swimbaits.

  10. We have three boys. They never slow down until they crash. Well two of them don't, the youngest is a month old, he just sleeps.

  11. X2 A Palomar Knot, when tied properly, is just as good as almost any other knot with fluoro. I was having some issues with it before, then I sat down and tied it a bunch of times to figure out where I was going wrong. Watching how Denny Brauer ties it helped out a bunch also. I haven't had a knot failure with it in a long time. Practice makes perfect.

  18. You lost your (-1) because I clicked on the "Like This" box on the bottom right of your post... I did that because no one should be negative. Merrry Christmas! Someone else did the same, which then actually put you back up into the positives.

  19. nope, no -1 to be seen.... feelings not hurt here, just curious why i had to be in the negative

  22. When I'm cranking wood I really try to concentrate on what my bait is doing. When I feel it about to contact a branch I stop reeling and use the rod to pull the bait forward. This slows the bait down to a crawl so it can float up a little bit but keeps it moving forward over the limb.
