  1. "It looks like the Winter issue will be here ahead of schedule, maybe even by the first week in December, in tackle shops by December 10th, on newsstands by Dec ember 27th and hopefully, to subscribers about the first week of January," said Mark Lassagne Bass Angler Magazine Editor-in-Chief. As he showed off a few of the articles to be expected he said, "BAM continues to amaze the fishing community with another batch of 30-plus new, different and great feature articles for the Winter 2012 issue. Allen Teer helps us prepare for the winter with specialized clothing and tells us how the pros stay warm in adverse conditions. Tailor Smith gives some simple techniques to help you win your next tournament. Greg Hackney and Sonar let you know it's okay to flip your way through winter and Dave Wolak and John Crews crank it up. But, that is not all. You will also learn the ins and outs of a football jig, how to fix your livewell pump, how to fish a winter spoon, which is better the Power Pole or Talon, what happens to the fish you release, what confidence means from the man that wrote the book, how to fish a flutter spoon with Charlie Weyer, to see if a released bass has a warning system, what KVD says about becoming a pro and that's not even half of what you'll find in the winter issue." 2. I just wanted to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving holiday. For those of you that have to work, I feel for you, been there many times. For those that will travel, be safe. This year it falls on my wife's birthday. I have so much to be thankful for and many blessings to count. This marks my wife's 11th year as a cancer survivor. It will be a special day for us. I hope it's special for you all !!!

  5. It must run in pizza chains My wife works for Pizza Hut and they do the same. They even went and rescheduled her to work on her day off and she just so happen to check it the day before. My wife problem she don't complain to much when the tips are being made but she is the only waitress for her store in Bowling Green. They got 4 shift managers, 5 cooks but she is the only waitress and she does the cut table(manager's job) phone, and even cooks when need too. I'm proud of my wife been there over 6 months ever since I got layed off she went out and got a job and been there since. Sadly I'm still home unemployed doing the house cleaning and taking care of our son when gets home from school. Just try to hang in there

  6. Again guys thanks for all the advice and I thought I'd give an update. My wife and I sat down and had a talk about our finances and I told her we need to start being proactive and set a plan in motion so we could actually be serious about ever owning a home. We figured our average monthly income and expenses. We found we have 4 debts, either credit cards or loans that are under $1000. Paying those off should take less than a year and then we will be down to just both car payments and her 2 student loans. She made a board like a they use at some fundraiser with old fashioned thermometers so she could fill in a little bit each time we make a payment so she could actually see that we were making up ground and to help us keep track of how we were doing. It feels good to finally feel like we are on the same page with our finances

  7. Love it. Just the right stretch and strength, with easy handling and plenty of abrasion resistance. Available at my local Dic k's too!

  8. Even if the Luck e Strike isn't quite as good as the Megabass, which I agree it probably isn't after fishing one, for the average fisherman with nothing really at stake if he doesn't get that extra couple of bites, I think they are a great alternative to the Megabass. They do catch fish pretty well and come in plenty of good colors to give the weekend fisherman with the ever shrinking fishing budget a more affordable option.

  9. Try to use the rod as your main fish fighting tool. Using the reel as a winch may do damage to internals.

  10. Due to your vague description of what rod/rods your talking about I don't know if your talking about the recons or phenix in general. I have only fished the recons so that's what ill address as I currently have the 714 and 764. Nothing in your post is even slightly true. In fact its the complete opposite of the truth. First off the weights are not only competitive but they are actually lighter than a lot of rods at and above there price range. Proven not only by the feel in hand but also the thread entitled recon rod weights on tackletour.com. Second balance is very good. They balance better than my comparable cumaras. Their exceptional balance is also supported by the thread entitled champion vs recon that puts there balance in the same class as dobyns and we all know how much people love the balance of dobyns rods. In fact of the two specific models the poster uses the recon has a better balance point. Also of the few people in the thread who have used both they all prefer the recons, and said they will be swithcing out all there rods. I prefer mine to my cumaras as well.So again not only do they compete in their price range but above it. Now on to the actions. Every manufacturer has their own ratings and tips. If they couldn't make a good blank I don't think they would have such a strong following among custom builders. The recons specifically are exactly what I expect and the 714 is the most versatile rod I have. I hate to bring up tackletour again but perhaps you would like to see the thread entitled recon question in which a loomis fan says the 714 is more versatile than the 843 and says depending on which line its a better buy.

  11. If I was Dallas kicker I would of went over and shook Shanahan hand for that timeout called! Come on dumb coach move with 3 seconds of play clock left and Romo was signaling a timeout that they did not have? Shanahan saved them a delay of game penalty. But good news for Cowboys now they are ahead in their division with Giants losing to Eagles and being 1-2 in the division. I just look at their schedule the Cowboys have the Giants at the Giants home for their season game. Imagine somehow it comes down to that game for division winner!
