Glad I did! The third or fourth cast I hooked up a nice 7# bass on a JD'sCustomBaits Frog. Other than this fish I never saw any other fish on the flats. Early bird gets the worm...but I think these fish were feeding all night on the big moon.

Yes it's the same fish. When I caught it I could tell there was not enough light to get a good photo. I think the Carrot Stick I was using is a 6-7" hvy/fast with the micro eyes.

Holy crap, cross thread sniping? Really? BTW, the VA state record is 16lb 4 ozs. If you're going to try and rip someone, at least do it right.

Plus one of the main points of the thread is about bonding time fishing with his dad and all the "experts" only care about making sure that the weight that he reported is "accurate". Who freaking cares? Is it really a competition? Do you have to prove that he's a liar? Look at this fish, it weighed XX.XX!! Well who certified that catch? It's sad really. Some kid comes on here super excited about fishing with his dad while his dad caught a HUGE fish and the peanut gallery comes in and tries to tear the experience apart. Sorry, I just don't see the point in doing that.

Look at all the internet weight experts!!! Why should anyone ever buy a scale when we can just ask the "experts" here?
