  2. That's a HAWG, no matter how much it weights. Congrats to your Dad's PB, nothing like a memorable catch with Dad.

  3. Checked the scales over and over. Zero'd then placed 10 and 20 lb weights on. Measured 10 and 20 lbs. Haters gonna hate on the fish I guess. And I wouldn't lie about the weight of my dad's fish.

  5. If the guy's stomach was messed up before, imagine its response when the FBI agents stormed the plane with guns drawn and arrested him!

  6. Reread Catts reply, perfect! The only thing I can add is; Use premium sharp straight shank hooks like Gamakatsu #011 or #484 size 3/0 for standard size 6" to 7 1/2" worms, size 4/0 for fatter bodies worms. Use at least 10 to 12 lb premium mono or FC line. Not a fan of braid for T-rigs. Use a 6 1/2' to 7' medium/heavy fast action worm rod with bait casting reel. Not a fan of spinning rod/reels for T-rigs. If you use a spiining outfit, then use braid with a leader. Difficult to keep in touch with the T-rig using spinning outfits, better off using a C-rig. Tom

  7. Some of the guys selling the fake Chinese knockoff Lucky Craft or Megabass baits are very good at hiding the fact that they are not the real thing. They always use terms like, looks just like, very similar too or they will say its their own model of the bait. The guy that is painting the real thing will have the original box. I have a large number of KO baits from several suppliers that I have sectioned to see how they are made and I have never found the first one that is close to the originals. Most have mismatched halves, weights that will not stay in place( weight transfer style baits), water leaks, internal wall thicknesses which vary a considerable amount, and hook hangers and line ties which are so misaligned that cannot be bent enough to get straight. My personal recomendation is if buy KO baits that you get at least 6 a at a time, that way you might get 1 that runs decent. Yep I have pictures of the cut-aways. One other thing, there will be those who will tell you how great thes KO baits are but if you go to any bass fishing forum that has a tackle making section or tackle under ground you will realize the names of the salesmen (Shills) will be the same. Like the drunk at the ballet, If they wanted tall girls why didn' they hire tall girls. If you want a Lucky craft buy a Luckycraft.

  8. Yeah man you need a new scale. That fish isn't close to 13lbs, did you really have scale with you??? It's kinda hard to believe what you say sometimes...

  9. Hey Kid. Is somebody with one of those fancy fiberglass rockets giving you the what for about your favorite fishing holes? Next time ask him where he started fishing before he got tied down with the big old monthly payment! I guess I'll never live long enough to figure out why some people feel the need to look down their noses at the how or where others enjoy the sport. If I were you, I'd ignore the ignorant around you and just enjoy a spot where you know he'll never show up. BTW, how's school going?

  10. I may be wrong but the Potomac river record for a largemouth bass on the VA side is 10.1 lbs. So, congrats! You beat the state record by 3 pounds. This is truly a historic event... http://www.nationalbass.com/reports/kincheloe.htm

  11. Nice fish but definitely not 13lbs, I would buy a new scale... A club member at our tournament this weekend caught one about that size and it went 7lbs 5oz.

  12. Most of the key features have been hit on. Metal frame, good drag, strong bail wire, quality line roller. Match the reel to the rod as suggested. As for servicing, I don't like those ports at all. You're just throwing new lube on top of old which could actually do more harm than good, but not likely catastrophic. Spinning reels should be maintained the same as your baitcast reels depending upon use.

  13. Smooth drag. Most important feature of a spinning reel. Try the stradics. You'll never look back Jeff

  14. I just notice how far his hand goes up on the belly of that fish, and how small the tail section is. Also a 13# is always fat, and that fish looks like a typical summer skinny fish.

  15. You keep fish attractant in the shower?

  16. I wasn't there, but I can guarantee that you aren't the "tool" in this scenario if everything is as it appears. It's too bad that one person can cause so much distaste in our sport. Can we dress this guy up in a Polk-a-dot outfit and make him fish some trout derbys or something, lol?

  17. Or a 7lb bass to a 13lb bass.

  18. That is a nice one. But I have to agree with these other guys, she's 8lbs or so. And by the way 10# vanish would snap very quickly under 15lbs of drag.......

  19. Nice fish story but that just doesn't look like a 13 lb. fish, sorry.
