Don't laugh.
The last 3 or 4 times out I noticed an ant or two in the boat. No big deal. Well, Friday I kill about a half a dozen. Today my son has a box with a couple donuts left in it. Once the sun came out so did the ants. I killed about a dozen. I get home and plug the charger in. While I'm cleaning the boat, I watch another dozen or so ants marching down the extension cord.
They don't appear to be carpenter ants but I'm not sure. They are black and measure about 1/4"-1/3" long. I have a tin boat and it does have wood in it. How much wood? I'm not sure.
The boat is also stored at a storage lot and is backed up to a fence with overhanging trees. So, I could have transported the ants from storage to my house or vice versa.
Obviously, I will have to treat the boat, the mulch outside of the house ,and do something about the storage. Any suggestions on what to use? Will ant traps work in the boat or would you suggest treating it with some other type of chemical? Is one brand better than another?
