  3. Saw these just came out on *** and was thinking of giving them a try. Anybody have any luck on the regular size model? I am worried the Northern Pike up here will tear the crap out of these. I want to try out the Natural Hitch color. They look good for where I fish.

  4. Here you go. Just make sure you use a good, EWG 4/0-5/0 hook (preferably a heavy wire). When it's all rigged up, it should be perfectly flat. Also, only put the hook in the top to right about where the "eye" on the bait is. This bait is killer when thrown right into the nastiest of weeds. http://www.ragetail.com/ragetailshad.html

  7. One thing I can almost guarantee you if you're going to get into law enforcement is you're going to have to deal with a whole bunch of B.S. If that is something that bothers you then you may want to rethink that career path. Some days it really bothers me but you develop skin as thick as rhino hide and the BS starts to roll off your back like water off a duck and you learn to deal with it.

  8. The line was keeping itself together strongly. I could tell because I had snags where I'd pull the line and test it's strength. Well this held on until about that much force. I had it reeled close to the boat. Felt it move from left to right. It had almost surfaced then I didn't see a tail but I seen something leave waves. From what I recall the force was tugging underneath my boat and that's when the line broke. I believe my drag was clamped and like you said may have bulldogged it. What does a 4lb bass feel like? I'm used to boating a 14' inch and this thing fought with about 3-4 times as much force as that. 4 lbs been the biggest reported bass in this particular lake.

  11. The line broke right above my reel actually. Also not a pike since where I fish they only stock bream, catfish, and bass. Wasn't a rock.

  12. FL_Sharpshooter: You can use any wide gap hook with a slip sinker. I prefer using Gamakatsu hooks and I'm real partial to using Tungsten for my weights. You also can use any of the internal tube weights that they sell. Go to *** and check out their terminal section. They have a whole section just for jigheads made for tubes. I use the Biteme models. They are pretty affordable and use good enough components. Never had an issue with them.

  13. Are you asking how to remove gut hook fish or just removing in general? If general I use forceps. If never held a bass neither here... For gut hook fish I use to let the bass just have it but I'm going to try this

  15. Don't laugh. The last 3 or 4 times out I noticed an ant or two in the boat. No big deal. Well, Friday I kill about a half a dozen. Today my son has a box with a couple donuts left in it. Once the sun came out so did the ants. I killed about a dozen. I get home and plug the charger in. While I'm cleaning the boat, I watch another dozen or so ants marching down the extension cord. They don't appear to be carpenter ants but I'm not sure. They are black and measure about 1/4"-1/3" long. I have a tin boat and it does have wood in it. How much wood? I'm not sure. The boat is also stored at a storage lot and is backed up to a fence with overhanging trees. So, I could have transported the ants from storage to my house or vice versa. Obviously, I will have to treat the boat, the mulch outside of the house ,and do something about the storage. Any suggestions on what to use? Will ant traps work in the boat or would you suggest treating it with some other type of chemical? Is one brand better than another?
