  6. I love my Lews. I fished my 5 BB1N models for over 24 years. I really like my new Lews as well. For spinning, the Shimano Soros and Symetre have been great performers. There are so many quality reels out there it's amazing.

  7. Nice healthy fish! Just further proof that you don't have to live were 10 pounders are common to be successful with swimbaits!

  8. Great looking truck, Robert. That thing'll haul the Ranger around without even sweating. The black bowties look darn good. You need to post up some after visiting the shop pics. Work hard, invest wisely, don't spend more than you earn. I'm on my....third business now. I can tell you from experience, it isn't easy. Find something that you enjoy doing first. If you don't like what you do, you won't put nearly enough effort into it. Part of becoming successful is learning from each mistake, and learning something each and every day. I'm not sure if I'm ready to consider myself a "success" yet. In one year, I've outgrown my property and am looking for a new building so we can continue growing. Thankfully I've built a client list that affords me the opportunity to continue moving up. There isn't much cold calling to do now to generate income. Almost all of my current business comes from repeat customers and people who have been referred to us. Customer service is key. Keep the client happy and you'll be happy in the long run. Having a d**n good person as your CPA sure helps also. Initially I thought I was going to owe money, she does her stuff and find out that I was owed over 10k.

  10. Great input as usual... If you're in to the older stuff, it will do fine, but otherwise I would drop some more money on something a little nicer.

  14. we have being catching them in the weeds, rage baits, buzzbaits and plastics. we fish the upper end of the lake, mile marker 19-25 usually. I would look for water in the 8-15 foot range with weeds. they are laying over on top now, so they are hard to fish, but thats where we have been finding them. If you have any questions shoot me a pm. Jim

  20. Here you go: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1141187546 This is something to consider as you build your collection over time: Technique specific rods are for "enthusiasts". Almost all your fishing can be done with just one rod. Beyond that, you only "need" three rods: Spinning: 6 1/2' or 7', M or MH, Fast Action (soft plastics and light lures) Baitcasting: MH or H, Fast Action (jigs, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and all single hooks) Baitcasting: MH, Moderate Action (all treble hook lures) The AVS68MXF is the spinning version; the AVC68MXF, baitcasting. Either rod could be considered "all around", but are targeted for single hooks. For treble hooks, the Avis AVC66MF is my choice for topwater and jerkbaits because it has a soft tip, but is still firm enough to work these lures easily. For medium weight crankbaits, my rod is a AVC70MM. 8-)
