  1. If the fish are biting I can easily go through an entire bag of plastics in one outing, esp if they are Senkos. At $5 bucks a pop on sale, if I could repair them that is a significant savings after a few trips. In a years time I bet I'd be saving close to 50 - 100 bucks. That is actually pretty significant.

  2. I'm sold. I had a plastic bottle that evaporated. I called the company and for shipping cost they sent me a glass bottle. Not only works great but great customer service also. See related post in "A Little Tip For Repairing Soft Plastics" thread in this section.

  3. Well said. How long does it take to change hooks on a crankbait? A lot longer guaranteed. Or sharpen a hook? I know alot of guys just throw out a dull hook but what if it's on a crankbait you're tearing 'em up on? Do you throw the bait out? What if it's the last one you have. I'll take the time to sharpen the hook or switch it out if it's too far gone. Also, stuff like this can be done in the "man-cave" while watching the tube and no time is wasted at all.

  4. They're not made by any other company, in terms of reel manufacturer. BPS owns the tooling, and uses a factory in South Korea as well as one in Japan. "Most" of the OEM reels in the world are made from a couple different factories, Bass Pro is another that has gone that route. I wouldn't be surprised to see the purchase of a factory in the future. In terms of what I fish, who cares. What matters is that I fish.

  5. They were booing Bettman, not the B's. As a chronic Boston sports fan, tonight is second only to 10/27/04.

  6. Please don't kill a 5lb fish for your wall. Replica mounts are better anyway. Take very clear close up pics of your fish, and take them with measurements of length and girth to a reputable taxidermist, and you will be just as happy with the results. Catch and kill gets no love from me, sorry.

  7. Rage Shad will kill in the pads. Like a buzzbait but weedless. Not many pad bass have seen buzzbaits. You can cover alot more water also and when you find a bunch, slow down. I've found alot has to do with what's mixed in with the pads. On my lake there is milfoil mixed in with the pads in about half the spots. The rest are fairly open within the pad field. You can use spinnerbaits, spoons, and I've had good luck swimming a 4.5" Shadalicious swimbait through the sparcer pads. A killer bait in the sparcer stuff is a Strike King Timber Spin, if you can find them. In the really thick stuff, a frog tends to work better for me. Let the conditions dictate what you use. Then fine tune from there.

  8. Try Mend-It At a buck a pop, it fixes up my Rage Shads in a few seconds and also has fixed a good dollar amount of Senkos and Shadalicious Swimbaits. Work good as new. I've repaired about $20.00 worth of Senkos and Rage Shads the last 3 times out alone! If your in the middle of the lake and you're on a hot bite and you're down to your last bait, you can always fix up a few torn ones but you probably won't be able to or want to go buy new ones. Works on any plastic except Elaztec. Now if you get your baits for free from a sponsor.......

  9. Snag Proof Phat Frog Snag Proof Bobby's Perfect Frog Scum Frog Trophy. Ish's is my favorite. Never takes on water and is the easiest to walk the dog.

  10. If the weeds aren't too matted over, you can't beat a Rage Shad on a 5/0 Owner twistlock hook and 50 lb. braid. Caught several nice ones this past weekend on this set up. My follow up bait is always a 5" wacky rigged senko. Never misses.

  11. Just tried the Craw Fatty and Grass Pig this past weekend and they are actually pretty decent. Not too expensive either.

  12. I never caught a carp on a plastic worm, but I have caught carp on a naked jighead. One day I beached my boat to walk the shore of an island. I was fishing for smallmouth bass and was rigged with a 1/8 oz orange ball-head jig. While walking the shoreline, I came upon a large wad of closely stacked carp in about 2-feet of water. It was something I've never seen before or since. They were not big carp, maybe 3 to 6 pounds. They were so closely stacked that I decided to have a little fun and try to foul-hook a carp with a naked jighead. Much to my surprise, as soon as the jig hit the bottom, a carp sucked it up. I caught one carp after another on that little orange jighead, and every carp was hooked in the trumpet-shaped lips and not one was foul-hooked. To this day, I still don't know what that was all about. Roger

  15. Wow! I'm thinkin' throw it away and use another. I don't think any of that stuff is worth saving. How much do you think you save over a year's time, a buck-fifty? Man, save money buying stuff on sale not on going through the trash.

  17. OK so i havent been active on this site very much in the past few years. But time to time ill stop by and check the forums out to see whats going on, and I can honestly say, everytime this site gets updated it frustrates me. 2006 bassresource layout > this new one...these ads are pretty ridiculous, and im sorry for all you anglers out there who arent very computer saavy but this site dosent NEED ADDS TO BE FUNCTIONAL, its a bad joke. The domain probably cost about 100-300 dollars a year at minimum, and I have been an admin on multiple forums. It dosent cost money to add text and news posts. Just saying the site used to be a lot nicer and easier to navigate, now it just looks ugly I mean for gods sake, the demensions on the avtar dont even look right.. rant over
