  1. I chose other. All my reels are BPS. I know they are probably made by Abu or Pfluegar but it says BPS on them so thats what I'll call them. I have had very good luck with BPS reels. The PQ, what an outstanding reel for $70.

  4. Use it a lot on rage craws and rage baby craws (for jig trailers) with good success. Trouble is, the fish in my local lake figured out my little mend-it trick, and now they break off one of the pincers sooner or later lol.

  5. Try Mend-It At a buck a pop, it fixes up my Rage Shads in a few seconds and also has fixed a good dollar amount of Senkos and Shadalicious Swimbaits. Work good as new. I've repaired about $20.00 worth of Senkos and Rage Shads the last 3 times out alone! If your in the middle of the lake and you're on a hot bite and you're down to your last bait, you can always fix up a few torn ones but you probably won't be able to or want to go buy new ones. Works on any plastic except Elaztec. Now if you get your baits for free from a sponsor.......

  6. Many years ago I was wading in my swimsuit fishing a culprit worm that I had just sprayed with fish formula. I had a light tap and the line took off and I set the hook. I thought I had the world record bass on but after a few minutes I saw a behemoth of a carp on my line. I started to chase after it and ended up in water up to my neck. After about 10 minutes (it seemed like an hour) I grabbed him by the gillplate and hauled him to shore. I weighed him on my old trusty 25 lb. Zebco De-Liar and he bottomed it out. After a few pictures, I was going to whack him on the head and bury him but after the battle he gave me, I let him go. Easily the hardest fighting freshwater fish I have ever had on my line, including muskies.

  7. I use both the FHS and Navionics mapping software. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. FHS is terrible for locating structure, but good for identifying creek and stream beds. It's also good for navigation. The Navionics maps are great for identifying structure, but the mapping leaves a lot to be desired in shallower water. It's often non-existent and very sporadic. Long story short, I use the maps to put me in a general area and then use my electronics to locate the good stuff. Then I mark a way-point on the maps.

  8. Go back on this forum and read as many threads as you can. Doing this may save you some trouble because a lot of people, like yourself, jump the gun on the subject of sponsors with out really thinking about it. I know this because at one time I did this. Here are some questions you need to ask yourself: What differs you, not just from people your age, but everyone else out there looking for a sponsor? Are you a people person? Can you for sure, not just market the companies product, but market yourself? Do you have tournament experience? Do you have knowledge of the companies products? These questions are very vague and there is still alot you have to think about. So again think through things before you start getting all excited. p.s. I really did not want to bring this up because I am also guilty of this, work on your spelling and writing cause without it, you are pretty much of no use to any company. Education is Key!!

  11. If anyone lives near a Northern Tools Store check their price for Seafoam. The Knoxville, Tn. store sells it for $6.48 per can 16oz can. This is not a sale price, this is their regular price. The local Advanced Auto Store has matched this price for me also...........Al

  12. Let's forget the dollar cost of getting this site up and running, and keeping it running. For the sake of argument, let's say it cost nothing. What about the hours it takes to get a site up and running, and keeping it running. The countless hours chasing down and fixing glitches. I'd hazard a guess, and that's all it is, a guess, that at minimum wage, the hours of labor put into creating and running a web site would far exceed the dollar cost of running it. My take is that Glenn, or anyone else for that matter that runs a web site/forum, does not need to answer to anyone, whether they make a nickel or a million dollars. It costs nothing to join and participate. No one forces anyone to be a member. There is a saying, "You get what you pay for." If someone pays nothing, and gets nothing out of it, there is nothing to complain about. If you get two cents worth of advice or learning, you are ahead of the game. One more thought. Seniority counts for nothing. What various members contribute, be it their first, or their thousandth post is what this forum is about. Participation, and contribution, not to mention civility, oops, I just mentioned it, are golden.

  13. There's a WHOLE lot more to this site than just the forums. All the software, dedicated servers, cluster environments, etc. add up quickly, not to mention a slew of expenses unrelated to hardware/software (like paying developers, designers, and freelance writers). There's also a HUGE difference between moderating a forum or two, and owning/operating a site. I'm not going to dive into all the financial details because, quite frankly, I don't owe that to anyone. But suffice to say, until you own and operate a site with the kind of traffic and complexities BassResource.com has, you're not in a position to challenge it.

  15. Ok lets be quite clear in what i was trying to say in the first post, im sure your all good readers right? It was never meant to be a put-down or a negative remark toward the admin or the site itself. I was just expressing my view on the layout. Its funny how a few of people that responded have been members for a shorter ammount of time then me. Dont worry though ill ask glenn send you guys the files in the old layout and you can upload them and browse around it yourself and then tell me which alyout you liked better. When i said "computer savvy" i wasnt trying to say the site was hard to navigate, the navbar and everyhting is well organized, and the drop down menus. I actually didnt mean comptuer savvy, i guess i shoudlve been "forum admin savvy". How many of you actually moderated or admind a forum? @Glenn - Im curious, you said the site costs thousands of dollars a month..Whats taking all of this loot? Im just wondering. Thats a pretty lot of cash to run a forum. @Sfritr - with all due respect, please dont use the word "outsider" you joined in april 09 sir, shouldnt be too excited
