  1. typical "crunchie" mentality... *shaking head* apparently we aren't all on the same team... tell you what if I had been there and I heard you and your two buddies talking smack about the non-infantry folks I would have kicked your butts out of the the building... put you at parade rest and kept you three there until your First Sergeant came and picked you up and then he and I had a little conversation... its called MUTUAL RESPECT young grass hopper.. get some. I would be personally embarrassed if one of my Soldiers acted like you did ... frustrated or not.. keep your Military Bearing... nuff said now move out...

  2. I have a 7'6" Heavy Carrot Stick (LTX) and a 7' MH Veritas (I've also owned 6'7" Med Crankin' and 6'9" MH Spinning LTX's). The Carrot Stick is a nicer rod in my opinion. I've fished them with Revos, Citicas, and Curados, and they both feel really nice and balanced with those reels. The Carrot is just so darn sensitive and for me has been bomber. The guides on the Veritas are nicer. The reel seat on the C-stick is nicer (BY FAR). The current C-Stick grips are larger than my older ones so that may be a wash, I have BIG hands and the Veritas is comfy as is. I had to use Roadbike Handlebar Tape to build up my C-Sticks (adds nearly no weight). I also have a BPS Extreme and Nitro, a Kistler Magnesium, and Lamiglas Excels(SICK), so if I were to rank my favorites of all my rods I'd go with C-stick followed very closely by the Excels, then the Veritas. Again this is just my opinion.

  3. When I first got my present boat (Lowe 180 W) I waited until a nice day in the middle of summer and practiced falling out of and getting back into my boat. Should you put any kind of a deck on that 13' V hull - you might want to schedule some of that kind of practice. You will need it. Any kind of deck will make that boat pretty tippy pretty quick. That looks like the kind of boat that you always want to be sitting down in while you're fishing. You could rig it out with better seats, trolling motor and stuff like that, but don't go changing the center of gravity very much. Somewhere on that boat there is a plate that will mention the total weight capacity of that boat. I wouldn't exceed it, That's just asking for it. Well, anyway, that's my 2 cents worth.

  4. Hate to say this, but you just have to put your time in at trying to figure them out, on your particular body of water. For instance, a severe cold front can negatively impact bass behavior. But not necessarily so in a river system, as the water is always moving. And to a lesser extent in reservoirs where they release water from time to time. Fish whenever you can and take a note pad with you. (I use to use a small tape recorder.) Soon patterns will develop and you will know what the fish are going to do, on a particular body of water, at a given weather event. One thing for sure, there are no iron-clad rules in this game (which is why I love it so!).

  5. I know this will make me sound like a homer, but there is a large difference in the accusations and also how the universities handled it. The only major charge against Michigan was the lack of institutional control that was handed down due to the probation against U of M from the fab five days. They were cleared on all charges except the charge of practicing 20 minutes too long. Which after it was identified was later changed by definition in the ncaa guidelines. So to compare practicing too long and the possibilities that players were being given improper benefits and that there was an active cover up is unfair. Unlike osu, Michigan also had a media outlet who was fabricating most of the alledged items and the university hired an outside firm to investigate the allegations. They were very transparent during the whole process. Osu is handling their own investigation and through the FOIA more and more is coming out. Not that their was a communication error about forms being filled out, but that the warning signs of undocumented cars, vacations, housing problems, etc. This was by no way a one man show covering this up. If this happened at U of M I would hope they would have cleared house and start over. I said all along that if they found Rich guilty of a coverup or guilty of lack of institutional control then they had to fire him. Two very different scenarios, but a fair question to ask.

  6. One of the most deadly post spawn techniques is to take an original sized fluke, nose hook it with a small circle hook, and throw it on 10lb fireline. Twitch it in as fast as you can with small, sharp snaps of the rod tip. Goodbye fluke

  7. I have nosed hooked flukes with a 1/0 or 2/0 wacky hook & it works just fine. Gives the fluke a more natural look especially when you kill it after jerking or twitching. A more stealthy way of hooking a fluke than traditional worm hook or keel weight hook.

  8. If they took the time to weigh fish on TV all the fish would be smaller than if they guess the weight. The typical 4lber would only weigh 3lbs.

  9. I've been doing great with the Space Monkey this year, watermelon red flake. Last summer I did great with the Anaconda. I'm down to my last two Space Monkeys and totally out of Anacondas. The local Dicks sells all of the Rage Tails except, you guessed it, Anaconda and Space Monkey. Went to a Dicks about 40 miles away. Same thing. I also checked out a local tackle specific store. The only Rage Tails they carried were the Chunk, Thumper and Smoking Rooster. They have every Zoom imaginable, probably every Yamato made, but only a few Rage Tails. Have to order some from BPS, but I hate paying for the shipping. It's like I'm paying for an extra pack and getting nothing.

  12. I just checked the profile of you servicemen, and found out you're both males. At least your sensitivities aren't the result of PMS.
