  1. Y’all be funny Craw worms are the most underutilized & yet one of the most effective big bass lures in your arsenal! Rest assured bass do not know if there are crawfish in your body of water or not! Rest assured bass do not know when crawfish are out or not! Why do y’all think almost every plastic lure manufacture sells some version of a craw worm! What makes a jig so effective is they mimic crawfish & so do craw worms! What do y’all think most “creature” baits mimic? When flipping, pitching, & punching what y’all think y’all are trying to imitate? So yea y’all keep believing crawfish baits are only for spring & fall or if you lake has crawfish or not. As for me I will keep kicking bass with them year around

  2. Nothing dumb about his question. Your response, however, is pretty d**n lame.

  3. Personally I do not think you need to use braid on a finesse jig. There are a couple of things that could be going on here. The first thing is poor mechanics in fighting the fish. The faster the rod tip is the less forgiving it is. The more parabolic bend (looks like a C, a more continuous bend in the the rod) that a rod has the greater the margin for error. It shouldn't take a whole lot to get a good hook up with a light wire hook. In fact I throw finesse jigs on a medium spinning rod with very few problems. The other thing I would look at is the jig that you are using. If its got a crap hook that could pose a problem also. With a finesse jig they should almost hook them selves.

  4. Assume your scale is accurate until you buy one that you think is more reliable. Have you confirmed that your present scale is not accurate? You have your weight, move on and go catch another, that fish is history, you can't weigh it again.

  5. Hey everyone, breif update on my Commando phone. The ear piece on the phone died on me today, less then a month owning it. The phone is marketed as "water resistant," and yes the phone got wet, but I can not hear someone talking to me over the phone. Took it to Verizon and they could not do anything. So, giving everyone a heads up on this phone now with not even one-months talk time on it.

  6. They are a blast to catch for sure....when I lived in NC the guys in my bass club called me "the blackfish king"...it was funny but true. I had a hard time with tidal bass but seemed to have a knack for catching numbers of bowfin....fun but no help in the club tourneys I'm afraid!

  7. Oh well, news to me. I was fishing all last week, while you guys were online looking at ugly reels, LOL.

  8. Grundle, the problem with being young is that one thinks he knows everything, but knows very little. He pontificates on things he knows nothing about ... a classic case of open mouth insert foot. I live in the heart of Tornado Alley. Do you have any idea of what the probabilities are of my house being hit by a killer tornado? It varies depending on the "expert." It's between 1 in 500,000 and 1 in 10,000,000. Regardless of the "expert," I like those odds. I've lived in Tulsa for 23 years and I've never seen a tornado. I think I will stay here. Take a look around. Do you see a mass exodus of people who live in Tornado Alley when Spring arrives? When you see a person look at their demolished home saying "I can't believe this happened," sit back and consider the odds of it happening. FYI, every state in the Union has experienced tornadoes, including Alaska.

  9. Thank you! I can't get over how ugly that reel looks! I thought I was the only one. I hope they change that nasty looking color scheme.

  10. His boat is white and black, maybe the color scheme of that reel was done to match his boat. I doubt it, but I hope so, otherwise that is one UGLY reel. Something that is used in so wide a variety of conditions and environments should not be white, just my thoughts.

  11. Is there anything in the north that isn't corrupt? Yeah, I've been there; what of it?

  12. They don't call the Infantry "Queen of battle" for nothing. :D Kidding with you of course. It'll get better. Most prior service members have all been there. Bird Dog, there isn't any need to strut around and stick out your feathers because you've got X amount of combat patrols. Honestly, nobody cares. Be proud of what you've done, but don't go throwing it around in peoples faces. I was deployed more than my fair share of times, but you don't see me posting about how I've been where and done this or that. All that matters is that you do your job and come home safely. As far as the "POG" deal goes. Every MOS has their terms for other MOS's. Just the good natured hatred (I use the term hatred very loosely here) attitude held towards each other.

  13. It's ok, I've been using one for the last year. Definitely not the best Abu Reel out there. I got it for flipping and pitching. Any real casting and it would be absolute junk. Not to mention I use my Revo's for that. If I had it to do again I would have just bought another Revo SX off of EBAY. For $30-$40 more you can get a quality used Revo that will be more versatile. Also, it's a Black Maxx
