  1. I'm not really sure what you expected here. Bodybuilding to the level that these guys take it involves an INCREDIBLY small group of people and an incredible amount of effort. As such, the majority won't ever understand it. You seem pretty comfortable with your path and know that it is one that is "out of the box" so I don't really understand why you're surprised when you get the reaction from the "normal" people that you do. I'd bet that if you went on your bodybuilding forums and talked about stalking one single giant bass for an entire day and not getting a single bite they'd think you were crazy. To each their own, seems to be very fitting here.

  4. Technique specific rod labels are marketing and purely suggestion. Concentrate on learning the available combinations of length, power and action and how each characteristic might affect a specific presentation. Only then will you be able to shop with confidence to put together a technique specific rig. There are lots of posts and articles on this site to get you pointed in the right direction. For basic bass fishing, Med Hvy/Fast baitcasting, Med/Fast spinning and Med Hvy/ Mod baitcast rods in a7' length will pretty much cover all the bases.

  5. I'm working on, and have almost perfected, a line of terminal tackle. Hooks, weights, split-shot, jigs, jigheads, swivels and snaps; all permanently infused with the scent and flavor of donuts. Nobody can refuse coffee and donuts in the morning, least of all a bass.

  6. Actually, it will work in almost any shade of water. Great color and you will enjoy using it. Give the trick worm a try followed by the fluke. Weightless trick worm on a spinning rig. Weightless fluke on a baitcaster. Hook up a 2/0 or 3/0 hook and Texas rig it so that the point is just under the skin so you can throw it into grass, pads, cover, etc. Keep an eye on the trick worm and you will see the bass inhale it. Using our rod tip, move the trick worm like a snake. Regarding the fluke, you will have to determine what pattern they want, as you do with a stickbait or a poper, Sammy or Spook. 8 pound flouro for both unless you want to go with mono as it floats better than flouro or if you are throwing them into heavy cover then upgrade the test strength. Have fun.

  7. Okay, but only because you asked: "Wave Worm Tiki-Snake - white In spite of its name, it's what I would describe as a sickle-tail grub (Grubs are grossly overlooked by bassers, and so is the color white...Shhhh) Roger

  9. Right lure in the wrong place will get the same results regardless how often you try. Spinner baits are reaction lures, if the bass are not reacting to the lure, you need to change someting. That something is uaually the size, speed, depth and location. The next outing that you are catching active bass, try the spinnerbait during that bite. If you are using a 1/2 double willow model, change to a 1/4 oz single or double brass/nickle colorado in chartreuse and white. Tie it on and wait for active feeders, your luck should change. Trying to force feed inactive bass a reaction lure doesn't work very often. Tom

  12. Then I'll give you another piece of advice. Find a new doc. This one is either dumb or you're not telling the whole story.

  13. 55000 acre lake is large , have you ever heard that 90% of the bass are in 10% of the lake ? Do you have electronics for your boat , are there any maps of the lake you are fishing ? Learn your lake and you'll catch the bass , especially the bigger ones with the right techniques. JMHO Good luck

  14. It's okay. I'm used to it. Anytime a person thinks for themselves, and is not afraid to step out of the box, this is what that person should expect. Fish PS, As I mentioned on the body building forum, it's amazing how our society has become SOOO incredibly out of shape (health cost spiralling out of control, etc, etc) Yet a person can walk down the street skinny (but often still with more fat and less muscle than is required for great health) or moderately fat, and nobody will even take notice > because this has become the norm. However, if a guy has a substantial amount of muscle, and pretty low fat, from a very healthy diet, and a lot of good exercise, he now stands out as "different". So now you will hear > He must be on roids.... Well that's not even healthy.... I wouldn't even want to look like that.... etc, etc. I'm quite sure the same things would have been said about the late Jack LaLaine, had he been 30 or 40 years old today {the guy was pretty darn buffed at 30-40.... and rediculously so, for a 90 year old !} Now there was guy who blazed his own trail, and wasn't afraid of what people thought.... And lived happy, and very actively, right up until he died last year at 96 years of age ! So, has enough truth been told to lock the thread yet ?
