  1. Yeah, I remember this. Punch a wall Hurt your hand Post to a fishing website for possible diagnosis Complain that it hurts Receive good advice on what to do Ignore advice Complain that it hurts Repeat until it "feels better" And now you've asked for advice again Received good advice And ignored it again Somehow I'm not surprised. Here's another piece of advice. You're not a professional bass fisherman and you don't have a family relying on your income to pay rent/food/etc. Stop taking the tourneys so seriously and worry about what really matters, your long term health.

  3. When fun fishing I have never understood the rivalry between anglers fishing out of the same boat, unless a bet was on the line. Take a kid fishing; they want to use what you use or that bright colored lure and you want them to use something that has a high percentage of catch rate. They try what you gave them and get bored, the thing you you hear is "daddy I got one", you look around and a big bass is reeled up to the rod tip caught on one of your pet lures! Share your productive lures with your fishing partners, young or old. Tom

  4. It depends upon many circumstances, so "fast" or "slow" is in two departmets, opinion and facts. Many deep divers don´t like being reeled in fast, when pulled by the reel they rest on their side and don´t run true, but you have to check your bait and see if it does it, if it does then don´t use a high speed reel for those. Deep divers can generate a lot of resistance, reel them in with a fast reel and it´s like trying to reel in a bucket, after a while between the drag and the vibration your arms end up toast. For baits like jigs, many spinnerbaits ( depends upon blade size and configuration ), soft plastics a very fast reel allows you to either work the bait fast or to pick up the slack in an eyeblink ( so you don´t have to reel in like mad ). On the subject of you can slow down, well, why worry about having to slow down when you can get a reel that does it for you ?

  5. Rods will usually throw baits in the top end of their stated range better than the bottom.

  6. Athletes getting paid......yes, Athletes looking to get drafted.......yes, Athletes hoping for a scholarship...yes This kid probably NO to any of the above. Good old fashioned common sense would have answered his question without a post.

  7. Check this guy out. Youtube Mikeybalzzfishing and watch him. He explains what he's doing sometimes. I think he uses 65-85 pound braid on a heavy or x heavy flippin stick. He uses 1-1.5 ounce weights and plastics like the gambler cricket. When he sets the hook, the fish is buried in weeds and he has to stick his arm down there to get them out sometimes.

  9. Yep. I view the ringing phone as a request that someone wants to talk to me. Many times I simply ignore the call. If I'm fishing and anyone calls I simply ignore it. If they leave a voicemail, I'll check it to see if it was an emergency. I never answer the phone while out to eat. Simply rude. But this has nothing to do with the device and everything to do with the person holding it. If your friend went out to eat with you and spent all of his time talking on the phone then the problem lies with your friend and not the phone.

  10. Hey it's your money, and every one has a opinion, but as a "fellow wisconsonite"! Look around for a good used boat in that class and get it checked out by a competent "marine" mechanic, I have seen several champion's etc, for a lot less than that that are fully rigged, but it's your stash man!!! junebugman Personally I don't need a 35,000.00 boat to catch fish, and I know a lot of guy's who don't either!

  11. When it is raining the fish look up. A buzz bait is my first choice, also top water lure or a spinnerbait work well. Kelley

  13. I'm headed out into the same mess this morning as well. I dislike fishing in the rain but have had some success at times. If I catch I don't mind being a little soggy, but when I don't, it's less fun, OK it's miserable especially when it's cold and windy too. I'm throwing jigs and soft plastics to pre-spawn fish. Good Luck A-Jay

  14. As bad as this sounds, the fishing may still be there but the money and time I put in this month for the tournament will not be. I'm getting a cast it just has to wait till Monday. The cast is gonna cause me to be taken out of spring training for football which is gonna be another problem but right now, all practice is doing is making it worse. I understand what you guys are saying and it makes perfect sense but, I have to tough it out just another 3 days.
