The opeing of the Morganza spillway is going to create a major problem in Louisiana.
Last night my wife and I went to dinner with two LSU friends visiting Richmond for our crawfish boil and they showed us photos of the powerful Mississippi at the LSU campus and the water level is about 20 feet from the top of the levee and rising about 9-inches a day.
I used to fish some of the areas that will be flooded and there are some nasty animals that will be heading to high and dry ground, i.e. houses, barns, sheds, etc. so after the waters receed the locals will have their hands full of snakes, gators, possums, racoons, neutria, etc.
I hope the fish population can survive those nasty Mississippi River waters with their chemicals and debris.
I also hope the damage is not as severe as projected.
You Louisiana guys keep us posted.
Thanks.
