This is for all you whiners.
I am old and set in my ways, not very computer savvy, also type like the girls that work for IBM "Huntin Pecker".
If a contrary old fart like me can figure out how to surf this forum anyone that want to can also. I see whining about the adds. Someone has to pay for this forum and am glad it is not me. Also Glenn deserves more than a pat on the back for all the work he has done to bring this forum to the place it is now and should be able to reap some rewards for all the money he spent to get where he has it now. I am relative sure this forum will carry on with or without the naysayers and if they leave rather than try to accept change so be it, it's their loss.
I have fished for over 65 years and have forgot more about fishing than some of you know. I learn something new every time I log on here that will help me be a better fisherman than I am today. I intend to fish and be a member of BR as long as I live(unless Glenn bars me) even if I have to use a pontoon boat an get wheeled onto it in my wheelchair. Glenn and I have had our moments over the past 6 years I have been a member but I admire him for where he has brought this forum compared to where it was when I joined.
So you guys that don't like the way it is now LEAVE or STAY, Just shut up and quit whining(I hope you stay).

We shall see my friend...we shall see!!
Bama will be solid, but LSU returns pretty much everybody on defense with the exception of Nevis, Peterson, and Sheppard. Offensively we lost Ridley, Tolliver, and a lineman or two, but we upgraded at QB (Mettenberger) and have about 15 RB's who can easily replace Ridley. Oh and did I mention we got the #1 lineman in the nation in Anthony Johnson.
It should be a great game, but the Tigers will prevail!
They're freakin' sweet, bro! Kistlers don't get as much love on this site as some other rods mainly because a lot of people have issues with their warranty, but they're great rods.
Your baits didn´t get water logged because they were put away damp, they get water logged because salt attracts and traps moisture from the air, moisture gets trapped by salt then it becomes water which dissolves the salt and .... you end up with brine.
Baits should be stored in a dry place and away from direct light, dry because moisture not only affects salted baits, it also affects hooks causing rust and tarnish and away from direct light because the colors will fade. Let alone that UV light degrades many materials.
I don´t see any reason why not to store them in the shed during the winter but to do what you have to do in order to keep moisture away or at minumum level.
Grab a strand of regular "fused" Fireline and a magnifying glass... tell me its not braided. Every braided line I have used (certainly there are many I have not used) has a waxy coating of some design... isn't that a fusing process? Cold fusing or hot (thermally) fusing... aren't they trying to accomplish the same thing? Don't believe everything the MARKETING DEPT. has printed on the package. It's their job to make a product APPEAR unique and better than the competition.

Big lures for less money. The saltwater section is awesome. Many of these lures are more durable as well.
One that I'd recommend is the Bomber Badonk-a-donk. It's a 'walk the dog' style topwater and the action is great. It looks like I could run it over with my truck and it wouldn't hurt it.
Cold, muddy water is about as tough of conditions as you can get. Generally in dirty water they will hold close to cover and in those water temps they aren't going to move far for a bait. Like you said a colorado bladed spinnerbait can be good in dirty water but I'd probably fish a dark colored, slow sinking jig tight to cover. Be prepared to fish slow and probably not get many bites.
I wish I could give you a better answer, but all I know from expierence is I do better when the barometer has been steady for a while or when it is falling just before a storm. The full moon thing is spot on. About three days before and after. I don't know why but it seems the full moon has an effect on everything including people.
I will chose college ball any day over pro ball. There is a lot of reasons why I would. Most of them have all ready been listed. I will sit down on a Saturday and turn on ESPN,CBS,ABC,NBC, and Big ten network and watch almost 16 hours of college ball. I might not be watching the games but there on.
As for the pros I could care less if I miss a game. I will only watch the packers. I don't think I saw a full game of there's last year. I didn't even watch the super bowl. I was watching reruns of Top gear.
I really don't know why all of a sudden the last few years I have stopped watching the NFL. I think a big part of it is the players crying about money. The other part ESPN cramming it down our throats 24/7. I only care about the NFL durning the NFL season.
Also I heard today on ESPN that some one is sueing the bcs for a playoff. As far as the bcs vs playoff gos I don't know which one I would like. The only way we could find out is to do a playoff. I have a feeling that people will still cry they didn't get it right. Even if they go to a playoff there will still be teams left out.
You know when you think about it guys we all kinda got what we wanted.
Glenn says there is more traffic so that is good for him.
The regulars are still posting so that hasn't changed. The new site is nicer once you get use to it.
I remember on the old forum that we use to complain a little bit about how newer members did things like run up post count or start fights or just post weird stuff.
Well it seems that we got are wish and its more of the normal guys doing stuff while the new guys learn the ropes.
As long as us regulars stick together and post good topics,Keep sharing what we learn, give good advice, and help the new guys then BassResource.com will never really change new site or no new site.

With all due respect, I suggest that you take a look at your rod handling practices. It's very unlikely that you have had three faulty rods. Today's high modulus graphite rods are light and sensitive, but the trade off is a level of brittleness. Avoid actions that flex the rod tip beyond 90* and be very conscious of avoiding nicks, scratches and dents.
