Super User Dwight Hottle Posted March 13, 2012 Super User Posted March 13, 2012 Went on a two day trip with some fishing pals to southern Georgia for a day & 2nd day in northern Florida. I only had three hits on Sunday. Lost the first one on a worm when she jumped.. I switched to a Northstar spinner bait I just ordered from Chris in white/chartreuse tipped with a small white grub. This big girl slamed it as it hit the water. Later in the day I was slow rolling the same spinner bait along the bottom when I got hit. Played the fish in & noticed my spinner bait was near the rod tip but the fish was still in the water three feet away. Got her landed & finally figured out what had happened. Justin had broke off a fish earlier in the day on a creature bait. There was the creature bait in her gullet, gut hooked with about four feet of braid attached. My spinner bait got the end of the braid caught in the splitring attaching the first spinner blade to the arm. The braid then wrapped arounf the swivel about 6 o7 times locking the braid into my spinner bait. That fish weighed 6lbs. Strangest thing I have ever seen. Two beauties in the same day. 1 Quote
SmokeRise1 Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Geez...you just have to get your baits within 4 feet of big fish to land them. Quote
