Super User Raul Posted October 5, 2009 Super User Posted October 5, 2009 but I think ..... The BaitMonkey has abandoned me and I 'm no longer one of his favorites. My friend Edgar called me Thursday last week, here 's how the conversation took place: Beep ! Beep! Beep ! ( NEXTEL ) Raul: "whassup Edgar !" Edgar: "WASSSUP man !, whatcha doin '? " Raul: "nuthin other than work" Edgar: " hey man, gotta question, when are you gonna order stuff ?" Raul: "dunno, there ain 't much that I "need" right now, reason why you ask ?" Edgar: " Remember I told I wanted reel covers ?, I called to know when you gonna order stuff so you can add them reel covers fo me to your order so we can get free shippin '" Raul: " how many you want ? " Edgar: " I just need three " Raul: " well there are a couple of models I 've seen, so whatya want ? " Edgar: " if you can find them covers that only leave the knobs uncovered those, if not then the others will be fine " Raul: " okie dokie, those cost 9.99 ea " Edgar: " no problem !" Raul: "as soon as I get them I 'll give you a call " So it 's been 4 days since Edgar called and other than a bottle of Mend It I just can 't find what else to purchase to fill an order. :-? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted October 5, 2009 Super User Posted October 5, 2009 Well, you are nearly "full-up" with your baitcasting collection, it's probably time to start working a little harder on spinning tackle. There's no point in "working your way up", just start out with a new Shimano Stella 2500FD. That should take care of shipping costs for Edgar's reel covers. : Quote
nUgZ Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 The baitmonkey's still got me pretty good, but the tool monkey is off my back now. I don't even get excited when the Snap-On truck comes to the shop anymore....I guess these things come and go. Quote
Super User Sam Posted October 5, 2009 Super User Posted October 5, 2009 Anything. Just add anything to the order and enjoy! Quote
Super User Raul Posted October 5, 2009 Author Super User Posted October 5, 2009 Anything.Just add anything to the order and enjoy! Now that 's a good advice, anything ... anything like whut ? :-? Suggestions accepted, cuz ... I can 't think about anything I "need/want/desire" . Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted October 5, 2009 Super User Posted October 5, 2009 WHAT? Not completing an order. You are a stronger man than I. Quote
Steven Ladner Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 You might want to get yourself checked, I've never heard of something like this. Quote
Super User Raul Posted October 5, 2009 Author Super User Posted October 5, 2009 Well, I ain 't in the mood for a spinning reel right now, more suggestions ? Quote
Lucky Craft Man Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I feel your pain. I have spent a lot of money updating rods and reels and purchased a ton of tackle. I even spent some money upgrading items on my boat. I got into the "buying" mode, but I can't find anything more that I really "need". I will tell you, my wife is happy about that. Though, I did just make an order today from *** for 4 spools of McCoy Fluoro. line (buy one spool, get a second free), an ounce of Mend-it, and some colored Tungsten Worm Weights. I guess all hope isn't lost and there will always be items "needed." I hope you find some "needed" items soon to get out of your funk. Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted October 5, 2009 Super User Posted October 5, 2009 Well, I ain 't in the mood for a spinning reel right now, more suggestions ? I have my eye on one of those inflatable life jackets that auto inflate at a couple of inches of water pressure. Those of us who have reached an age where we are not quite as agile as we once were cannot be too careful. just thinking... Quote
detroit1 Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Buy a couple of "kid" combos and the next time you see some kids fishing with junk, you could "upgrade" them on the spot. The monkey will be so confused...... (Raul is buying these?) he may need some therapy. Quote

CHEVYRIDAZ Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 I feel ya Raul, I am the same way right now! I need a spool of line but cannot find anything to add to my cart to get free shipping! Quote
cbfishalot Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Just add some hooks and weights to the order and it will take you over the mark or a new swimbait. Quote
BriBass Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 If u dont have enough rage tails.. then rage tails... maybe some of the news ones if you dont have an order in or have them yet. How u doing on scent? need a refill? New swimbait? Line Hooks Just getting ideas out there gl Quote
fathom Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 must be something catchy going around. the kids both got me gift cards from the new dick's that just opened. have been in that store twice now and both times have walked out with nothing but those two cards. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted October 6, 2009 Super User Posted October 6, 2009 The baitmonkey's still got me pretty good, but the tool monkey is off my back now. I don't even get excited when the Snap-On truck comes to the shop anymore....I guess these things come and go. I'd rather be plagued by the bait monkey that the tool monkey, especially when it comes to Snap On tools. We bought our first home in 1965 for about the same price Snap On gets for one of their humongous rolling tool centers. Can't call it a tool box or a tool chest. Center seems a better choice. But it could be worse. Imagine one of those Snap On creations as a tackle box. For sure, you'd be the bait monkey's pet. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted October 6, 2009 Super User Posted October 6, 2009 Mattlures Hardgill. Hell, buy two... Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted October 6, 2009 Super User Posted October 6, 2009 Four Tungsten weights should do it! Quote
