Had one in my hands at BPS Auburn this past weekend. It didn't impress me, though it was light.

Right now the lefty mgx's are only available through abu Japan. I heard they will be available in us market by the end of the year. Don't know if its true.

Ergonomics weren't great for my small hands. Handle felt "lopsided" if that's even a term? Hard to explain. It didn't feel smooth at all. Reminded me of a much lesser reel. I'll be honest, I'd buy a Premier first. This wasn't a "demo" model either. It was really light, and if that's what you after, they did that well. It's pretty cool looking too.

You give up durability to lighten the reel that much... For my money the STX is a more durable reel and the Revo flagship.

Dont hold your breath for a lefty MGX. I'm still waiting for the Revo Premier HS to come out in left hand... :sleepy2:

so i guess i am best off spending my gift cards on something else

I think so. They stock plenty of good reels. If you really wanted to get a new reel in lefty, get a Premier. I dont think that those sub-6 oz reels are going to balance out those rods enough. You need a reel with SOME weight to it.
