Looking to invest in a half dozen or so of these, never used the LC Pointer, been mostly a Husky Jerk follower.  Leaning towards the 100.  This a good all around size?  The 78 seems a bit short at only 3 inches and the 128 has a 15-20# test line recommendation, I would prefer to stay around 12# test on my jerkbait set up unless the 128 comes with higher recommendations?  Just curious what you all think on these before I go and drop a good chunk.

either the 78 or the 100 will work for all-around...not sure if i don't prefer the 78.

add a flashminnow 95mr, a dd model 78 or 100 and a staysee 90 and you can pretty much cover the water column to 10' or so.

to add to the confusion, the slender pointer 97 is hard to beat when the bite is tough...more erratic on the jerk and more movement sitting still than the regular pointers.

american shad seems to be the color to beat in my waters.

ymmv.

Depends mainly on what you are fishing for? LM around weed edges, I'd probably go for the 100. Smallies where ever you find 'em, I'd go with the 78. The 78 is extemely versatile. Will work well for the LM too in many situations. If I could only have one, it'd probably be the 78. Most of my buddies prefer the 100's. Go figure!  :)

the 78 walks better and attracts more strikes, but the 100 will get you some better fish. The 100 will also catch small fish, but less of them. the 78 is way better on the rip retrieve when the bite is on fire.

I'm a big fan of both the 100 series & the 128 series. The 128's are not to big for smallies. You could try one 100, one 128 & one staysee 90 & still be under $50. I have had great luck with all three for both largemouth & smallies.

I'm split down the middle on this. The 100 should catch bigger fish on average but I think the 78 is a little easier to control. I guess if I had to choose I'd error on the side of caution and go with a 78.

The 78 is probably better all around for bass but I use the 100 a lot too. Never used the 128.

Split them up: 6 100s, 2 78s and 2 128s

I prefer the 128 for green fish and 100s for small jaws.

I only fish the 78s for German Brown Trout and generally

prefer the X-Rap when I'm targeting trout.

My favorite color or pattern is Baby Bass. MS American Shad,

Original Tennessee Shad, Chartreuse Shad, Aurora Black and

Aurora Gold are other colors I highly recommend. After that,

pick your poison!

8-)

The 100 is my pick. I'll start the season early with the 100DD's but as the fish come shallower, I switch to the regular 100. I do have some 78's but they barely get used.

5bl you have got to dust of the 78's and start ripping 'em

Dude, the 78's attract too many dinks where I'm at. I will throw them every now and then as a last resort after I've run the gamut of 100's and 100DD's that I have.

How is the action of the DD compaired to the regular pointer? I like the regular pointer a lot. I've used the X - Rap deep and notice it has a somewhat muted action compaired to the shallow X - Rap.
