tnbassfisher Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Have any of you dealt with St. Croix's service department? I managed to snap my Triumph yesterday and was wondering what the best way to go about the service or if I shouldn't even bother. I read the website about their different service plans and was just looking for feedback from y'all. Thanks. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted December 16, 2011 Super User Posted December 16, 2011 I have never owned any St Croix product, I don't think a triumph is too expensive. Personally I would never bother with a warranty if the rod value was l00 or less, except an over the counter exchange. I don't feel it's worth the effort of to pack it up and ship it back. I don't know but do they pay the shipping both ways and send a tube for free? If the answer is no I wouldn't bother with it. Quote
tnbassfisher Posted December 16, 2011 Author Posted December 16, 2011 That was part of what I was thinking. If it is worth it to me (if I can save money), then I will try and deal with their service department. That is what I am trying to figure out. Quote

Super User J Francho Posted December 16, 2011 Super User Posted December 16, 2011 Well, it's $50 + $10 to replace it with the Gold Star program. I've never had any problems with their warranty dept. Quote
Super User tomustang Posted December 16, 2011 Super User Posted December 16, 2011 It depends, is your triumph past the 5 year warrenty? If its still warrentied, $20 + FedEx $10 ship program If not than no. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted December 16, 2011 Super User Posted December 16, 2011 He said he broke it, I took that to mean it isn't a warranty issue. Quote
Super User tomustang Posted December 16, 2011 Super User Posted December 16, 2011 Managed to snap could mean any way Quote
tnbassfisher Posted December 16, 2011 Author Posted December 16, 2011 No, it was completely my fault. I was stupid about trying to get a lure unhung and got line wrapped all around it and it snapped. I've only had it since May, so it would still be under warranty, but I don't think that will apply since it is my fault. Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted December 16, 2011 Super User Posted December 16, 2011 Well I broke my Avid twice (once my fault-once not) but still $20 plus $10 for shipping and they took care of me. Thats why since then I have bought 3 more rods of theirs. Quote
johnD. Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 st.croix customer service is one of the best in the business..make sure when you purchase a new st.croix , to register it on there web site. Quote

If you use the gold star plan it'll cost you $50 to get it repaired or replaced. No questions asked. Call them and they'll tell you how to print out their shipping label. Quote
