Lobster Monster Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I've never bought a swimbait before, and am extremely hesitant spending even $15 on one lure. I really wany to get a swimbait though. Is the Reaction Strike Revolution Shad Swimbaits any good? Any recommendations for a swimbait that's around 4 inches or so that's in that price range? http://www.***.com/descpageSWIMRSTRIKE-RSRSS.html#pImage Quote
tnbassfisher Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I'm not much into swimbaits, but I have heard good things about the Strike King swimbaits. I have been wanting to try one if I can ever get myself to spend that much on one. Quote
BlakeMolone Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Academy sells a 4.5 inch swimbait(the brand is h2o and they can only be bought at academy) for like 8 dollars and it works really well! Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted August 11, 2009 Super User Posted August 11, 2009 i've heard the revolution shads are junk, and i've heard the spro bbz-1 shads are good. haven't used either though. Quote
bigtimfish Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 For hard swimbaits I use the academy h2o's I use both the 3.5 and the 4.5. For soft I use the huddleston deluxe. Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted August 11, 2009 Super User Posted August 11, 2009 Far as I know there isn't academy in FLA. :-/ My reccomendation would be a sexy swimmer. It is 5 inches long, but big deal, catches dinks just the same.It has a slender profile and mimics a perfect sized morsel. Otherwise I would definitely go with the spro bbz in the floater model. With the floater you get a better idea of how the bait moves and how you can work it. Quote
BassnMan Mike Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 I throw Huddleston Deluxe and BBZ-1 Trout and Shad's. Yes they are a little expensive but in my opinion well worth the investment. Quote

I have never used a Revolution Shad, but I have actually heard some positive things about the swimming abilities of the bait. I believe Randall (member here) prefers the RS to the Spro. Quote
I.rar Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 not really a true swimbait , but the swimming senko has brought me in some good sized fish. cheaper than the rest too. Quote
Branuss04 Posted August 11, 2009 Posted August 11, 2009 Swimbaits are overrated... stick to senkos Quote

I like the 4'' TT, Spro, King Shads, and the Sexy and Magic Swimmers. I have an H2O but haven't fished it yet Quote
