My professor gave us a zipped file that requires extraction. So, I extracted the file for the assignment, but when I go to open the folder a box appeared and it said "This file is located outside your intranet or on an untrusted site. Microsoft Access will not open the file due to potential security problems. To open the file, copy it to your machine or an accessible network location." I don't understand what this means? I also tried to open the file using Internet Explorer and when Internet Explorer extracts the file, Access opens the file, but it says in bold "The database 'Query Assignment S&S' is read-only" Then it proceed to say "You won't be able to save changes made to data or object definitions in this database." Then when it shows me the file, I can see all the tables, but when I click on Queries, it won't show any of the tables nor can I start a query. I do not have Access 2007, but my dad had a disc for 2003 that I installed and did previous assignments with this version. I don't understand why the file will not open for me nor let me run a query? Any suggestion(s) would be appreciated. The course syllabus says we can use Access 2000 and up. I've already e-mailed my professor and he hasn't replied yet and the assignment is due tonight at 11:59pm. I have to run 9 different queries and I want it done before Alabama/Florida game at 8pm..I hate computers and computers hate me.

Right click on the file in Explorer and choose properties. Make sure the "read-only" box is unchecked in the General tab.
