Bobby Uhrig Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Well I finally got in the door and put up my feet. I am glad its over . You want to talk about hot-Holy Crap-I dont know how you guys live down there!!! What a show. I thought the company's there were going to go easy for the reason of the economy-Nope! What I did see there was a lot of the big company's did scale down booth size.A lot of great products. I got to meet BIG O again and let me tell you he was a class act. He really does have some great products. It was good to see some of the guys from Bass Resource there also.Every time they came by half the stuff was missn off our table -whats up with that>>>/??? We had more press from writers than any other year. They are starving for something new and boy did we give it to them this year. The New Strike Back Spinner Bait was praised by everyone that came by to see it. The New Megastrike Plastics were also smokin with write ups. The New Wing Ding was incredible and so was the MegaDog and MegaBug. The highlight of the week was!!!!! Going out to dinner with our Hero GLENN- Founder of Bass Resource and Gene FlukeBoy. We ended up at the wrong restaurant with 14 of us. Boy are we glad that we did. I rate it as one of the top 5 meals I have ever had in my life. What made it great was not only the quality of food but it was everyone at the table. The best you could imagine. The only thing that really really sucked is we had our boat and truck outside the hotel and the last night some low life scumbag stole our prop. I would like to thank Glenn and Gene for a great time and everyone else that showed up. It was a great time had by all. Quote
carrothead Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 I would love to go to that sometime. Do you get any free handouts, or can you purchase the new products, or are they just for looking? Quote
aarogb Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Sorry to hear about your prop. Other than that, sounds like you guys had a great time. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted July 20, 2009 BassResource.com Administrator Posted July 20, 2009 Great synopsis Bobby! You would think the show would have been less intense and quiet due to the economy, but that certainly wasn't the case! It's the busiest we've ever been. Everytime we went by your booth it was brimming with people and a lot of activity. It was easy to pocket a few baits while everyone was distracted. Dinner was the best mistake ever made. ;D Had a great time, and was delighted to have been in the company of such great people. Carrothead - there's very few handouts and selling is not allowed. Glenn P.S. Thanks for the prop Bobby! Quote
Big Mike in Fl Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 bobby, you think its hot down here, try fishing in it, or even worse, working in it. Quote
Bobby Uhrig Posted July 20, 2009 Author Posted July 20, 2009 It would be like the wicked witch on the front of the boat deck-IM MELTING ,MELTING It was freakn hot- Ive been to Vegas at 116 degrees numerous times and it was hotter in FL with the humidity. DINK WHISPERER Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Man i live an hour from the show and only found out yesterday! Can anyone go or just certain people? Is it in the same place each year? Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted July 20, 2009 BassResource.com Administrator Posted July 20, 2009 It's an industry trade show. Sorry, but the public is not allowed. It will be in Vegas next year. Quote
George Welcome Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 I had the air conditioning tuned up and the boat sitting at the ramp but no one wanted to fish after the show. A-C system Quote
Super User Sam Posted July 20, 2009 Super User Posted July 20, 2009 Super report. Maybe there is a prop-lock out there or you can invent one. Yours is not the first time I have heard about props being stolen. Quote
Bobby Uhrig Posted July 20, 2009 Author Posted July 20, 2009 Ever since I was little I told everyone -"I will give or share with you anything you need. If I had a sandwich and you were hungry-I would give you half-You need baits ect I will give you -You steal from me and I willl beat your $^%$#-" Quote
J-B Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 I am glad to hear that you had a great time Bobby. I am also glad taht you were getting so many write-ups about your stuff. That is sad about the prop. I hope they dropped in on thier foot. Sorry I could not make it down there. I ended up in Montana and North Dakota instead. The scenery there blew me away. Quote

Bobby Uhrig Posted July 22, 2009 Author Posted July 22, 2009 I GOTZ Pics-Hold on there FA FA FOOEY Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted July 22, 2009 Super User Posted July 22, 2009 Bobby, I went out yesterday and fished the Strikeback that you made for me. Its performance was absolutely incredible. I was fishing my Cheater Lake so the average was 4.5lbs. I caught 20+ on the Strikeback without loosing a single fish. I even tried to let a few of them get off and they just stuck. I fished it until the main blade went MIA while fighting a 6lber. There will be a new blade on it today. Like I told you, I'm determined to break the thing. This spinnerbait is awesome. It is totally solid. You get positive hook-ups every time and there is no way for the fish to gain leverage and shake the bait free. This design will revolutionize spinnerbait design. Congratulations go out to Bobby for making the best lure at ICAST. (IMO) Quote
