Why do you need a net?

Good reasons to carry one. I could have used one last night boating a 3.5 lb bass with a crankbait strung across it's face. Couldn't lip land him and I don't like just slinging them in the boat.

You don't..........if you're targeting 3 or 4# fish, but the reasons to carry one far outweigh the ones that don't.

I havent heard of the one you are talking about but i have seen a good one at cabelas and gander mountian it is thick plastic so you dont have to worry about trebel hooks getting twisted up in the net, thats the reason i dont normaly use one. i have one of the plastic type i only really use it for fish that look to be 4lbs or over because if you just lift them in and they through the hook it is more of let down then letting a smaller one off.

The net you are talking about is by Frabill.  We're here at ICAST and have shot a video demonstrating the product.  I'll post it soon.
