Shane Procell Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Hey fellas I just fished two of the last three days in the glades. With all the fresh water covering the grass...the topwater bite is on fire. I have been concentrating on areas that have moving water, grass, ledges and areas where the water is backed up and funneling through cuts. 95% of the fish came on a plastic frog. Busted a couple of 5+ pounders in standing grass. These bass were following hard leaving big wakes(like a redfish) before tracking the frog down for the kill. Frogging is by far my favorite bait and most productive, especially in the cover. I'll be fishing Loxahatchee and Sawgrass next week for sure. Go get em! Quote
salmicropterus Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Shane, have you gone into the flats at Holiday? It looks tempting although I think your boat can handle skinnier water than mine Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted August 14, 2011 Super User Posted August 14, 2011 Exactly what frogs do you like to use the best? If you don't mind me asking. Quote
Shane Procell Posted August 14, 2011 Author Posted August 14, 2011 Can you post a link, love your vids! This was edited for my Youtube channel. I was not going to post this one since I gave mention to my fishing service. I was using a handpoured JD'sCustomBaits frog.....any frog should work. Before I started using these frogs I was using a Zoom Horny Toad. They work very well too. I still use the Zoom Horny Toads if I have clients using a spinning rod, since they are considerably lighter and softer. Quote
endless Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Man I wish I was there and the glades or Florida itself. My brother been topwater here in Va today. Lost god had to be over 6 to 8 pounds maybe more who knows. My 4.9 doesn't compare to his at all from what saw when the jump out and shook his lure off. He was using a Top Dog JR. Far as frogs I've trying but my luck hasn't been good this year so far just 2. I know others been slaying them here! Me I'm going out this week to give it another shot out this pond I know. I haven't tried this year so will this week. I'm trying to land one and Deps Basirisky hard belly soft crawler. I have in the black color but notice the hard plate is brown Should I paint that black or shouldn't matter. just like this one Quote
