Furbit Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Fished a club tournament this past weekend on this very clear lake. The weeds where up in some spots but mostly they where about a foot or two under the surface. I was told by many that small baits, Flouro and such was the only way to catch these spooky clear water bass. Well I went outside the norm to place 1st in this tournament. Seeing all those weeds beneath the surface my first though was a Rattle trap but I had this strong urge to toss the Frog. I noticed on a few cast, the bass would come up and check the frog out but just would not hit it. Some in fact would follow it all the way back to the boat, but just would not bite. Since time was not on my side I decided ok, I'll juice the frog with MegaStrike, make a few cast and if that don't work it's on to something else. Well there was nothing else for that MegaStrike made lookers into hookers so to speak. They just hammered it. 18lbs 3oz, 5 fish limit for the win. Thank you Bobby and MegaStrike. I have no doubt in my mine that MegaStrike was the ticket for this tournament and I shall never fish a frog or anything else for that matter, without juicing it with MegaStrike again. BTW second place was 14lbs and some oz's. MegaStrike kicked Bass Booty! Quote

Your story seems pretty convincing to me! 8-) I really do believe MegaStrike was the final touch. I have never before been 100 percent sure when it comes to any scent, in fact until this season, and I have been fishing for bass for over 20 years, I was only 50 percent sure at best that adding scent would help. I mean I have had days where adding scent I caught fish, but was it the scent that caused them to strike? On this day I know for sure in my mind, that it was the final factor. They just would not take the frog no matter how I worked it until I added MegaStrike and with that I am 100 percent sold on MegaStrike. Honestly I have never had confidence in any scent they way I do with some lures. line, rod's, reels and so forth and I have tried many many brands of scent over the years. Edge Hot Sauce Gel I did/do have some confidence in, that being that the bass will hit it and in the case of frogs, they will hold on to it, but I have never seen anything like this, in fact I have seen followers before and have juiced before under those situations, but I have never seen juicing (as I call it) actually really make that big of a difference until now. It may have helped in the past, but on this day I know it more then just helped. Quote

Maybe you should order some more to get your fix. ;D LOL, I am pumped but I already have 3 tubes of the new, 1 tube of the old and one tube of the craw. I think I am good for a while. It's been one of those things where you buy something and it basically gets tried a couple times and then sits in the bottom of the tackle box, but this new formula produced right off the bat a couple months ago so I always keep it handy just in case and now the case will always be on my lures instead of in the tackle box. gotta love it (megastrike and winning) congrats on the W man Thank You. I have talked to people til I was blue in the face. Had people give ya that dummy look like they were the know it all best fishermen in the world.Some times ya just cant convince someone to try it. Over the years I have gone to tournaments -shows -here on this board as well as others-road trips giving product away. I have gone to ICAST and as well as other shows working the bass tanks doing demonstrations of baits being used with and without MegaStrike.I have seen some amazing things that even surprised me. I even put it on a pebble and dropped it into a tank and watched a bass pick up that pebble and swallow it.When I hear a little story like Furbits it makes it all worth while. The best is when the kids are catching fish with their dads -Priceless.Believe me MegaStrike is no snake oil.Its good to share these encounters with fellow fishermen. Like I have always stated here- I am a fisherman first-business second. Quote

As for telling the difference, the only way I could tell is the new formula, even in it's plastic shell wrap that it comes in, you can without any doubt smell the stuff. Some say it smells like garlic others say dead shad, whatever the case it does give off an odor that the old stuff did not. It won't knock you to your knees like some scents out there of which is a good thing, but you can for sure smell the new stuff threw the package. Best way to be sure since the package does not say new or old is to order direct from MegaStrike or go to the local fishing store and take a whiff. Tackle Warehouse is a good bet since they move product there like crazy, but it's possible they still have some of the old so like I said, your best bet is to either smell it first before buying or order direct. Sorry I can't be of more help then that, but that's the only way I can tell the difference for the package is exactly the same. Congratz on the win...Note: gonna have to order some megastrike. adclem Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Mega Strike is awesome stuff. I was throwing a spinner bait Saturday evening with a single tail grub trailer and getting some nbbles but no takers. So I added some Mega Strike to the grub and made a cast. The next thing I know a fish attacked it, chomped off the back portion of the grub and then attacked it again and dang near swallowed the whole spinner bait. I definitely am a Mega Strike believer! Don't want to open the debate as to whether attractants actually get you more bites but 1) I firmly believe they do and 2) The fish hold on longer giving you more time to hammer em. I use it on all my soft plastics, anything with a skirt such as a jig or spinnerbait and even hard baits. Kudos to Bobby on a great product. Quote

My only problem is I bought a bunch of the old stuff and I had to finish it before I bought the new formula. I'm down to the last tube. Quote

What it also does is boost your confidence level. I cant tell you how many times that bass came back and hit the bait after I yanked it away from it. Congrates on the win Fur Quote
