BOOYAH Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 I just saw these on ebay and was wondering what you guys think? I've never tried these kind of baits before and was wondering if they look good enough to buy? http://cgi.ebay.com/15-Crankbait-lures-fishing-tackle-Crank-bait-bulk-lot_W0QQitemZ290081708916QQihZ019QQcategoryZ7300QQcmdZViewItem Quote

I agree.......I buy a lot on Ebay as well and this guy has 18 neg feedbacks in the past month and over 60 in the past 6 months! Looks like he like to make his $$$ on the shipping charges and the gear is pretty low rate stuff. Quote

After reading this sellers feedback I wouldn't buy anything from him.Kelley Just for kicks, I went through 60 pages of his feedback. He may have 18 negatives, but I think most of them were posted by 2 or 3 buyers who posted the same feedback a half dozen times in a row. Conversely, some of his positives posted the same feedback a half dozen times. In any event, those lures don't look like very good quality to me....JMO Quote
BOOYAH Posted February 15, 2007 Author Posted February 15, 2007 thanks. thats what i was wondering about is the lures not his feedback... i read about 20 pages of it too. I was going to email the guy first an get actual pics an stuff that he would be sending not just the general pic. Just wondered if the baits were worth my time talkin to him, since i don't know much about these baits. thanks again Quote
Super User Dan: Posted February 15, 2007 Super User Posted February 15, 2007 he's got 98.2% positive feedback, that's pretty good. Quote
Cravin Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 My first post here! I'm not familiar with that exact brand but I would express caution on a lure of that type , I fell victim to a extremly high dollar lure that was a full bodied diver with life like action . I couldnt get it to run true, too fast and it would flip side to side, running it slow it still ran to one side, I had to run it as I felt too slow to get it half way work. After tweaking it many times in effort to save my investment I finally gave up. Since no one seems familiar with it and you cant see the manufacture, I'd stay away from it , there are many things that that contribute to how lures run... The balance and dive bill need to be exact and a well placed eye, the action tail can affect how it runs also. I think you should try it in a smaller quantity before puchasing in bulk, I dont think the manufacturer is worried about loosing there reputation if you cant see who makes it. If you do buy them I'd like an update because the style on them do seem tempting.I may be wrong on these but thats been my experience. Quote
Super User T-rig Posted February 15, 2007 Super User Posted February 15, 2007 Welcome cravin! Yes, those lures definately look like crap. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted February 15, 2007 Super User Posted February 15, 2007 I would be cautious. :-? :-? :-? Quote
BOOYAH Posted February 15, 2007 Author Posted February 15, 2007 I emailed the guy and asked for a pic and the name brand of the lures. His response was NO lol guess i won't be buying from him. I mean whats the big deal with givin me a friggin name brand???? Quote
Super User T-rig Posted February 17, 2007 Super User Posted February 17, 2007 Those lures are probably no name brand lures made in china and cost no more then a quarter to make! Quote
Brad_Coovert Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 Those crankbaits are made by Possum Lures. They are soft bodied style crankbait. I have not used them. Brad Quote

Super User Munkin Posted February 17, 2007 Super User Posted February 17, 2007 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290075657707 Looks like bombgirl34 may be a very unhappy large woman? Allen Quote
Guest avid Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 The fact that the seller has alot of recent negatives is a turnoff, but with almost 8000 feedbacks a 98% is pretty good. More troubling is not the negative comment bombgirl gave him but his snotty response to her would remove him immediately from my possible buy list. I think the lures will work. they are cheap so don't expect them to last forever. what happens to some ebay sellers who have been doing this for awhile is that they get burned out to it. To make money they need volume. thats alot of posting, answering questions, packing, shipping etc. Then there's always the crazies out there who bid and never pay or make ridiculous demands. but bomb girl had a legimate complaint. It is not correct that "he can only go by what the package says" It is his auction and so it is HE who claimed it would fit up to 250 lbs. He should have offered her a refund not a snotty demeaning comeback. My advice. - stay away. Quote
