jaystraw Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 I used a new finesse presentation yesterday, and it worked great. small 3 inch white powergrub on a 1/16th oz jig head. I fished it around boulders in pretty deep water. Did not lose any, even with an exposed hook. It seemed to catch the ones that were not ready for my jerkbait. Quote
macbass1 Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 i drop shot tubes all the time but i dont like small tubes i drop shot a 4 inch tube... Quote

Stingray23 Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 2.5 inch tubes are too small. I use 3.5-4 inch tubes all the time. My favorite finesse setup for smallies is a 3.5 tube w/1/8oz jig. Gets them all the time. Quote

But 3.5" tubes usually work better. I alwatys like to go as big as possible because big baits cast further and cover water better. Quote
DeepStructure Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 3" grub on 1/8 oz jighead or 3.5" tube on 1/8 oz jighead, both in natural colors like green pumpkin. Quote
