Stiller Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Hi everyone. I've been lurking for a while. There's so much information here that it seems like there's not much left to say. I've recently purchased a bit of land with a 2.5 acre pond stocked with LMB, Black Crappie, and bluegills. I've been fishing it with a 10' jonboat and have had some success. On Sunday a neighbor kid caught a 17" LMB that weighed 2lb 10 oz. You can catch 12" bass all day, and I've seen some real nice ones, but haven't hooked them yet. There are a lot of 10"+ crappies in there, too. This evening I caught 2 -12"er's both on 5" baby bass senkos. This is my first try with senkos and I lost them both. Also caught another the same size on a creme worm. And a brown bat on a berkeley power worm. I haven't fished since junior high 15 yrs ago so this is a lot like starting from scratch. But so far it's been good. -Stiller Quote

Stiller Posted August 7, 2009 Author Posted August 7, 2009 Thanks guys. We do need to remove some of those 12" bass but it's slow going with just me and a 5 yr old. There are only 4 or 5 other people who fish here occasionally. Lots of people have asked permission, but they haven't come back. Go figure... How do I determine how many should be removed? -Stiller Quote
