I've been coming to this website for about three or four months now on occassion but never thought about registering for the forums until now.

I've lived in West Alabama for four years, and before that lived in East Texas for 13 years. Originally from Birmingham, AL, I've been fishing in one way or another since I was 4.

When I was 7 I had my first "real" fishing experience (in otherwords something more than casting some cheap line into a shallow pond) on the Texas Gulf Coast. My very first keeper was a six pound redfish.

In Texas, being on the Gulf Coast, I spent about 70% of my time saltwater fishing and the other 30% fishing the many lakes of East Texas, especially in the summer when I was off from school. My fishing fundamentals were developed in Texas, primarily learned from my father and grandfather.

Since moving to Alabama, just about 99% of my fishing has been in the lakes and rivers that make it the beautiful state that it is. My most frequented spots are Lake Tuscaloosa and Logan Martin Lake, but I have had the greatest pleasures and successes the few times I've been on Lake Guntersville.

Sorry for the lengthy intro, just a little bit about where I come from. If you have any questions about fishing in Alabama, feel free to message me.

P.S. - For July 4th I'm heading up to East Tennessee for some fishing on Boone Lake. If anyone has any tips about this neck of the woods, please let me know!
