Super User Crestliner2008 Posted April 11, 2009 Super User Posted April 11, 2009 When I fish SM I go with the 78 most of the time. LM fishing I go bigger. But I always test various sizes, depending on the fishes mood. If I get a lot of follows, but not takes, I know it's either a size thing or color change that I need to do. Quote
tritz18 Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 I use the 100 series , its just the right size Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted April 11, 2009 Super User Posted April 11, 2009 I prefer the 128 for shallow presentation & the 100 DD for getting deeper. Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted April 11, 2009 Super User Posted April 11, 2009 I fish the 100 & 78 about the same amount of time. Falcon Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted April 12, 2009 Super User Posted April 12, 2009 I use the 78 most of the time but the 100 is good when they are bit deeper. Anyone like using the pointer dd for bass? Quote
adclem Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 78 most of the time, but will also use the 100. Later, Quote
Super User Munkin Posted April 12, 2009 Super User Posted April 12, 2009 Most of the time 78sp but I switch to the 100sp for bigger fish. Allen Quote
Willzx225 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 78 Most of the time since we have a bunch of spots around here in the 12-15" range. Ice- I used the 78DD a lot and caught a bunch of good fish on it. I think i was getting to a group of fish that was less pressured. I will be using them more next spring too. Quote
Primus Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I prefer the 128, produces the biggest fish. That said I can catch more numbers with the smaller sizes. Quote
bass wrangler569 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 I use 128s the most, especially during the spring and fall. 128s really have a knack for producing huge smallmouth. If I can't get bit on 128s or if I'm looking for numbers I'll downsize to 100s. Quote
