Super User .ghoti. Posted January 28, 2010 Super User Posted January 28, 2010 If there's any way at all for you to make this trip, do it. I will see some old friends, from previous trips, and make some new friends. Lots of fun, good company, fisherman from all over the country, what's not to like? And the fishing; it's the icing on the cake. See ya there. Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted January 28, 2010 Super User Posted January 28, 2010 For those arriving early, the Second Annual Saturday Night Wine & Cheese Soiree will be whenever we get it together Saturday evening. This is when we make Long Mike drink wine that did not come out of a box. ;D ;D ;D ;D Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 28, 2010 Super User Posted January 28, 2010 You will have a chance to see, and maybe even hold, this trophy rod: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1264030354/0 8-) Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 28, 2010 Super User Posted January 28, 2010 Pitchinkid bought the rig and I suspect he will bring it with him to Pickwick. There are a lot of guys with custom rigs, but this one is probably the king daddy! 8-) Quote

Super User firefightn15 Posted January 29, 2010 Super User Posted January 29, 2010 Special request to all the newer members: If any of you are remotely thinking of the road trip, PLEASE go!! Last year was my first and I was nervous as hell going in where angels fear to tread. I was at the Kentucky Lake Resort earlier than anyone else and the first two people I met were Road Warrior and Big O. A couple of short intros with these two guys and it felt just like home. It turned out that every last one there was as approachable as a big ribeye sided with mushrooms and onions. Make your plans now and be there. Trust me, you'll never have a better vacation. And the new friends you make..........you'll never forget 'em!! I would only add that you would need to be on the look out for men with furry hoods, defective chairs, and empty wine boxes that you may trip over. One more thing, if you haven't ever been in a boat with over a 50 hp, get ready for some amazing g's So sign on newbies and get set for the ROAD TRIP of a life time!! http://roadtrip.bassresource.com/ Quote

Wild Bill [NY] Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 I wish you all a safe trip and a great time. I wish I could attend, but my budget this year is absolutely stinko, so I will not be able to afford it this time due to the pitiful state of the economy. My wife lost her job, and my business is going REALLY tough times right now because NOBODY is spending. Are there any mini-meets or the such planned this year up in the northeast ??? Quote
