Super User 5bass Posted August 5, 2008 Super User Posted August 5, 2008 Just trying to get a decent reading on what type of water everyone is fishing. I hear reports of people catching from small ponds, lakes, creeks, etc....and wondering if one type is more popular than the other. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted August 5, 2008 Super User Posted August 5, 2008 Almost all of the above, but you didn't allow an option for multiple answers. Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted August 5, 2008 Super User Posted August 5, 2008 i checked other because i fish out of private ponds that are maybe an acre big, public lakes that are something like 375 acres, and the potomac river and the creeks that feed into it. you should have enabled multi-vote on this poll Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted August 5, 2008 Super User Posted August 5, 2008 90% lakes over 40,000 acres. Quote
billbrum Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 I fish out of all of them except huge lakes. I do just fine in my much closer lakes, rivers and ponds. Quote
GitRDoneIke23 Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Till I get my drivers liscense, I fish a private pond near my house. And every once in a while we'll fish at other private ponds. I also fish a creek close to my house. Once I get my lisence I'll be fishing Rayburn, T Bend, Conroe, and Fayette County. -Ike Quote
Super User 5bass Posted August 5, 2008 Author Super User Posted August 5, 2008 I didn't enable the multiple votes on purpose. I want to know what each individual fishes the most, not every spot they fish. So if you fish the local private pond thru the week 3 times and make a trip to the big lake on the weekend, the pond gets the vote. Quote
basser89 Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Yeah, a multiple vote would have been good for me too. I'm all over the place as far as waters I fish. Its a toss up as far as what water I hit the most. Lunch time (almost daily) I hit a 505 acre lake by work, on the way home from work I might either fish a small public pond or the upper Potomac. Super User 5bass Posted August 5, 2008 Author Super User Posted August 5, 2008 Wow, I thought we had more fisherman on this site. So far there are 110 views of this thread and only 20 people have voted. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 5, 2008 Super User Posted August 5, 2008 In my region all options are available, so I voted my preference which is river fishing. 8-) Quote
Super User firefightn15 Posted August 5, 2008 Super User Posted August 5, 2008 I fish 300-500 acre lakes mainly. What is the difference between the small and medium lakes if the acreages are the same. Depth? Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted August 5, 2008 Super User Posted August 5, 2008 99% of my fishing is on a beautiful 450,000 acre public lake. Sometimes I wish it was private though. Falcon Quote
Newman12Fan Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 During the week I fish a 14 acre retention lake less then 1 mile from my house. On the weekends I fish a 50 acre and 10 acre private lake at the campground I have a permanent spot at. I just got a new site this weekend on the big lake, so as soon as I get a boat, I will only fish that lake on the weekends! Quote
Aaron Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 I fish the big waters of KY and Barkley lake almost exclusively, although it is tough sometimes when confined to the banks. I don't have access to any private water but I do fish some small ponds in the Land Between the Lakes occasionally. I hope to see everyone at KY lake in the spring. Quote
