Shad?

Saw this fish on the bank (K.I.A.) and was just wondering what kind of fish this is?

 I don't know what others call them. But we call them shiners here in calif.  8-)

I stand corrected......it is a golden shiner! Took this pic from a marine bio book.....check out the color of the fins. It says those fins can even turn red durning spawn.
