Bassin101 Posted March 29, 2005 Posted March 29, 2005 I went night fishing, in the kayak, for the first time. I fished topwaters, buzz's, and spinners toward the bank. No luck. Fished a 8" TRigged Zoom watermelon worm over structure and caught a 3lbr. Is night fishing more verticle than horizontal? What are your favorite night baits & techniques? Quote
bassin4life Posted March 29, 2005 Posted March 29, 2005 Topwater most deff during the summer and night spinner baits with black blades you want to go dark at night so I would say fish with dark colors....I love it in the summer during a full moon they bite all nite...Jitterbug is a killer on the ponds I fish in the summer months. Skeeter6598 Posted March 29, 2005 Posted March 29, 2005 Yep what he said! LOL! Go with dark colors at night. Other than colors I don't fish any different at night than I do in the day other than maybe hitting some lights on the water. Bait fish will school up under lights around marinas and such at night and the fish will key on them. I like fish topwaters, and black spinner baits with a big single Colorado blade. Night fishing can be awesome! Quote
Bassin101 Posted March 29, 2005 Author Posted March 29, 2005 Skeeter it WAS awesome that night. I think that the idea of turning off the anti-reverse on my reel is what allowed me to keep that one on to the kayak. That "tip" came from this site too. Cheers Quote

johnbr19792003 Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 dark colored big spinnerbaits, make sure theres a trailor. I like to reel them in almost as fast as i can.Its great when it gets hit, feels like your lure just hit a brickwall. Quote
BassnG3 Posted March 30, 2005 Posted March 30, 2005 I drop shot night fishing the only thing different is I add a rattle to my worm. Additionally I also throw a 1/2oz spinnerbait with a big colorado blade. Loud crankbaits are also effective. Scott Quote
