Super User Dwight Hottle Posted December 29, 2010 Super User Posted December 29, 2010 Went out today for a couple of hours with a newly found fishing buddy. This is my first fish of the day from one of his honey holes. All together I caught about 15 bass in 2.5 hours. Post cold front fishing at its best at least for me. Quote

Super User Goose52 Posted January 2, 2011 Super User Posted January 2, 2011 Wow - GREAT fish ! I am a native-born Floridian but moved away in 1967. When I was getting ready to retire, I figured I'd move back to Florida for the fishing and to be near my family. Made a recon trip to FL in early 2006 and found out that the dang Yankees had ruined it since I left.......... ;D ;D Quote
fishinfewl Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 That is where I will be retiring so I could do nothing but catch bass all day long!!! Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted January 5, 2011 Super User Posted January 5, 2011 Many great fishing venues in this country other than Florida. What I love about Florida is fishing 12 months of the year, great saltwater both inshore and offshore, plus excellent bass fishing. Most days both salt and fresh can be done as I do. South Florida is the new " north", suits me. Quote
Super User Paul Roberts Posted January 7, 2011 Super User Posted January 7, 2011 Nice to see you've been able to keep busy (casting) during the winter, Dwight. Guess it beats digging through 4ft of snow and 2 ft of ice. ;D What were your water temps?? Quote

piscicidal Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 Dwight, Looks like you're in my back yard... Nice work. You've been catching some monster fish over the past year or so. Enjoy your stay here and try not to be too hard on our poor bass. Quote

Somehow I think we'd be the ones netting and photographing all your big fish. Palm Beach Gardens. You are very close to Loxahatchee Refuge. I'm not sure how long you are down for, but you should try and get out there a couple times. Lox is largemouth heaven. This thread shows some of the fish you can catch there. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1288493649 Also, the everglades canal systems (holiday park, sawgrass) really start cranking out bass this time of year. You can have triple digit days, if you hit it right. I'm out of state right now on business and really itchin to get back out there fishing.... Quote

Thinking of heading up that way this morning just before daybreak ( Jupiter Inlet) wind, tide and wave direction look favorable. Quote
