Went out yesterday on what started as a nice day. Was throwing a Bubblegum floating worm T-Rigged and ended up catching 1 fish on it. Then the wind started picking up and instead of leaving like I normally do,I put on a  Spinnerbait. Throughout the course of the day I caught 4 fish on the Spinnerbait, the largest being probably 2 pounds. I was pretty stoked as I never throw spinnerbaits.

Oh and has anyone ever had a random fish just jump in the boat?

I heard some commotion behind me in the baot and I took a look and this little fella jumped into my boat,he was gingerly recaptured and released.

Heres  release shot I took of the largest of the fish I caught yesterday,no wall hanger but fun nonetheless

Awesome.  My better spinnerbait days have been on cloudy, rainy, or windy days.  That's not to say I don't catch fish on spinnerbaits when it's sunny.  I do. I've just had better days overall when the light penetration wasn't as intense.

And no, I've never had a fish turn himself in!  How bizarre!  ;D

spinnerbaits have always been my go to baits.  Especially earthtones in semi clear water.  Chop on the water is always a bonus.  Not sure what to say not knowing what the conditions were.  Deep/shallow, water temp, etc.

BTW, I've never had a fish that desparate to be caught! ;D

Ya know I really HATE the wind,I mean hate it. People know I get UBER grouchy and irritable in the wind, but for some reason I decided not to let it get the best of me yeterday. Made it work to my advantage. I like throwing soft plastics, but its hard to control my 10' Jon Boat in the wind,I cant keep the presentaation the way i want in the wind. With Spinnerbaits, its a no brainer. The fish pictured in my Avatar was caught on the exact same bait I was throwing yesterday.

Its a Strike King Spin Dance Spinnerbait, which I inherited when my Uncle passed away. Its done some good. So far Ive caught 7 fish on it. Ive never NOT caught something on it when I throw it.Its the only one I use.

I have good luck with spinner baits. I like all black ones with a black over sized colorado blade. It slow rolls real nice or you can churn it along the surface and puts out lot of vibration. I have caught some of my bigger Lmb on them. The only thing I don't like is that the dinks wear them out and then you hook a HOG and he jumps once shaking his head and the wire breaks. This make me want to cry every time it happens! :'(

i used to love spinnerbaits, last couple of years they have forsaken me though. Big fish bait for me usually. And a big yes on the fish jumping in the boat. Not to me personally , but happened to these guys in a tournament i fished against. Smallmouth were chasing shad and one got a little overzealous and jumped in there boat.
