This is gonna be a dynamite bait for post front fish.  The bait is based on the same concepts as the Ima Flit.  The 2 main concepts being the action in the body rather than the bill, which allows you to get it deeper without the added fatigue of a longer bill, and the rattles, which sound like lethargic shad.  

I was able to go to FLW touring pro Michael Murphy's house for dinner at my BFL regionals a few weeks ago and he gave me the scoop on the Mcstick and Ima Flit.  He designed both.  PM me if your thinking about either one of these baits but are skeptical about shelling out the dough for them.  I have some info directly from Mr. Murphy on why you should have these things.

They look sexy but what is the deal with the diving depth. I generally fish jerkbaits in water less than 8' and like them to run about a foot or so under the surface for smallies and largies. How deep do they dive and what kind of action should I expect?

I have used Lucky Crafts, Rapalas and tons of others, but nothing quite works like a Smithwick for some reason. I like the action of the others and they catch fish, but not like the Smithwick;s.

I am also curious as to why the center two hook hangers are turned the opposite direction of every other jerkbait that I have seen?  May be trivial but something tells me that McClelland/ Murphy did it for a reason. :-?

There's several Japanese custom makers who use the design.....it changes the treble orientation so that the bait doesn't get as much abuse from the hook.   I've heard some people comment that it increases hooking percentage - - I haven't really noticed.

I am a big fan of Spro lures.  These baits look awesome, they have already done 1/2 of what they are designed to do......Catch fisherman......next  they must also catch fish

Matt 825, I'm a small retailer, so mine are coming from my SPRO wholesaler.

If mine are shipping, then other tackle shops should be getting some soon.

Suprisingly, SPRO has been doing a good job keeping up with orders this fall.  They are usually really slow.

I'm still anxious to get the two other colors of the BBZ Shad and the new Poppin Frog.  The Little John MD and the first two colors of the BBZ Shad are great baits.  The others should be as well.

The Vision 110 was clearly the bait they had in mind when designing the McStick.  I couldn't be more thrilled....Vision's are overpriced (as well as all Megabass baits IMHO), so if it works well it will benefit us all.

Just looking at the pictures, the weighting looks similar to the Vision 110, but the lip angle and size look completely different.

Little things make a huge difference in hardbait design.....a few degrees here, a 1/16" of an inch there, moving the line tie just a teeny amount - make for a bait that behaves in a completely different manner than one it may look similar to.

Still no comment on the action? I guess nobody has actually fished it yet.

So, how are those Swiss bass this time of year Trig?

Well, the weather was crappy this weekend and the fish in the pond were in no mood to come out and play with the new McStick.

The McStick is a pretty cool jerkbait.  It has a long chamber in the bait with two rattle balls that shift to the end of the bait on the cast to help make longer casts.  When you begin the retrieve, the balls shift forward and fall into a slight dip in the chamber at the front of the bait.  This makes the bait run and suspend nose down.  The bait has a tight wiggle and the two rattle balls give the bait a dull rattle sound, similar to the Little John crankbaits.

The colors are also better looking in person than in pictures and the hooks are super sharp.

Very hard to catch. Only caught one 2lber. on a beaver this weekend. Maybe the mcstick will change my luck!
