Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted September 8, 2008 Super User Posted September 8, 2008 The last month has been real tough for me too, Al. Like Skillet said. It can only get better. Hey Shawn, I agree, it's crankbait season, however, the St. Clair smallies didn't get the memo.LOL Falcon Quote
Super User grimlin Posted September 8, 2008 Super User Posted September 8, 2008 The last month has been real tough for me too, Al. Like Skillet said. It can only get better. Mrs. Matstone Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 If I remember correctly I think that fall is a good time to catch some big fish so make sure you keep on going out there and have a good time when doing it too. ;D Quote
ptomacbass Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 go deep. lately all of my strikes have been reaction strikes, i've had to fish very fast and hit cover. fishing slow has been getting me nothing. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted September 8, 2008 Super User Posted September 8, 2008 Although there are regional differences, autumn in the Mid South means football, whiskey and Primetime for smallmouth bass fishing! Our baitfish are mature and beginning to school. Fall and winter, combined with some river current, brings us the best opportunity for catching the fish of a lifetime. It's time to buckle down, fall fishing can be awesome! 8-) Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted September 9, 2008 Super User Posted September 9, 2008 I expect it to change real soon. Our overnight temps are supposed to be in the 40's for the next couple nights. I'm very excited for the next six weeks or so. The fall smallie fishing on St. Clair is numbers and size time. It's spinnerbait and crankbait time!!!! Falcon Quote
Trick Worm Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 From my experience and what I have read.....fishing is a very mental sport similar to golf. When you start thinking bad thoughts and feeling negative emotions our chances are more likely that you dont do well. You seem to be a very optimistic person from your statement,"at least I was out on the water" Keep thinking about the positive and you're sure to start catchin some big ins Quote

AL Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted September 11, 2008 Super User Posted September 11, 2008 Way to go Al!!! Glad to hear the skunk is gone. I'm heading out in about an hour. I uncovered the boat, and I'm waiting for my wife to get home. Falcon Quote
