BassinSoldier Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 What are some of you guys' favorite baits to use with the shaky head? I personally like the netbait finesse worm. More specifically, what kinda' baits OTHER than worms have you all tried and had success with? It seems like a good way to present a soft plastic craw too. Quote
MattStrykul Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 My favorite thing to throw on a shakey head is a trick worm. Usually I throw a full sized one, but I throw the finese ones as well. Other times, I have thrown a flappin hawg 2 by gary yamamoto on a shakey head and just crushed fish. Regular ribbon tail worms ain't to bad either. Quote
Super User Tin Posted October 3, 2008 Super User Posted October 3, 2008 Berkley 5" Shakey Worm. It always stand up and has that Berkley scent. Green pumpkin of course. Second would be a 4" slim senko 194J when the fish are picky. I usually use the lightest Pro Spot remover I can use. Quote
MattStrykul Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 Tin, Do you use the Berkley shakey worms that get all hard if you leave them out? I used to use those type of power worms and the fish just LOVED them. They sure were nasty to handle though. I might have to give those another try. Quote

Stuff does nothing make a mess and tick me off. I fished with a guy once who acctually had a gallon plastic fishtank in his boat he put all his Gulp in. I'm all set with that... ;D Quote
bmadd Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 I love Roboworm straight-tails in 4.5 black grape on 3/32 Picasso Shakedown heads. I have tried using 4" zoom lizards and zoom tiny flukes as well. Had some bites but wasn't impressed enough to stray away from the Roboworms. Quote

Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted October 3, 2008 Super User Posted October 3, 2008 Net Bait 11 inch t-mac 8-) Quote
Jake. Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 6" Roboworm Straght Tails. They're hand poured so they have great action. Quote
Primus Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 For Straight tail worms I like the Roboworm & Reaction Innovations. This winter I might try ordering some hand pours to try for next season, if anyone has any recommendations I would sure appreciate it. One that has done well for me at times is the Zoom Shakey tail, it has a thin Ribbon tail for a little added action on the way down. Quote
Super User Raul Posted October 3, 2008 Super User Posted October 3, 2008 Old habits die hard, I 've been fishing for so long with straight tail worms that my "favorite" is a straight tail worm like a Trickworm or a Finesse worm or a Kut Tail Shakey tails should be good, now that I 'm running out of another Mann 's discontinued worm I suppose I can subtitute it with Zoom 's Shakey Tail or with GYCB 's worm 4-6" Mann 's Augertail worms are also good. Now that I come to think about it, almost any soft plastic bait is good for shakey heading. Quote
SJex Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 Roboworm Straight Tail Worms, Zoom Finesse worms and Zoom 4" Lizards. Quote

Thad Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 I've caught them everywhere with a Yum Houdini Worm in Green Pumpkin in both the 4.75" and the 6" version. The other day I had a lot of success with the Pro Senko. Quote
BassinSoldier Posted October 3, 2008 Author Posted October 3, 2008 So I guess not too many of ya'll throw a craw on a shaky jighead? I guess if it ain't broke don't fix it huh? The netbait finesse worm/shaky head has saved me from the skunk many a day. I'm gonna have to check out those roboworms. Quote
