Justin and I am a Jerkbait addict. I decided that I would go through my boxes and organize it a little while it is freezing outside and I have over 40 jerkbaits. Everytime I go to the stores I buy them. Rouges, pointers, X-raps, Husky Jerks and some I do not even know what the heck they are but they catch fish. I just love fishing Jerbaits. They always seem to catch fish. All year round it does not matter. When its cold slow it down, dead stick them for 30 seconds or more, then boom. For me there is nothing greater then early spring when the jerkbait bite is hot. I was just wondering if there is anyone else with my problem. I also wanted to know if anyone has had luck with the slender pointer. I guess I will have to get two or three just to try. I think that I will just go with the larger size. I have found that with the pointer I am just throwing the 128 anymore. I don't quite catch as many fish but the ones I do ooohhh yeah. Man I am glad I got this off my chest. Take Care

hey there justin.  I love the jerk my self and I couldn't agree with you any more.  I like the 128 it may not produce many fish like my rapalas or megabass do but they do produce larger fish I haven't ever caught one under two pounds and I'm not kinding.  I have only been fishing them for 2 years now but let me tell you wow.  I do have to say I do catch my larger fish on cranks though, but I still do love the jerk

The Slender Pointer 112 is awesome for smallies and Kentucky bass in clear water. The aggressive darting action draws them in and they just eat it, its like a smallmouth magnet.

Fishing jerkbaits is my favorite technique. The Lucky Craft Pointer 128 is my favorite lure. I have some of the Slender Pointers and they work fine, but I don't think there is anything "special" about them.

Well, if roadwarrior doesn't think they are "special" i guess i won't waste my money.... ::)

I don't think the "action" is special, but I bought a couple of colors that were different and most importantly, BPS had them on an in-store sale for $6.99. So, what I meant to say is that you should not duplicate one of these with a Pointer you might already have.

I'll never forget the first time I fished a Rogue.  I was 11, and my Uncle, whom taught me how to bass fish, had me tie on a gold/orange bellied Rogue.  He said to jerk it.  He didn't instruct me to pause the bait or anything complicated..."just cast it out there and jerk it back to the boat with swift jerks."  I just killed the fish that spring day.  I probably caught 20 bass, and I was hooked on jerkbaits for life.  On another note, I highly recommend the Slender Pointer.  I almost like it's erratic action better than the Pointer, and I don't think the fish have seen it as much as a Pointer.  With a feathered treble...they are down right deadly!

I have to admit I am addicted to jerkbaits! :) It is a toss up between jerkbaits and spinnerbaits as to my true love but seeing as they seem to work in different seasons I will say both. Honestly I have at least 1 or 2 of every jerkbait made? I search ebay and every other site I can find for new jerkbaits that I have to have because I am addicted to them. :-/  When you start downloading Japanese translation software so you can try and order jerkbaits then your problem is on the level with me? While I may not be as popular as Roadwarrior I will say this, in the fall there is no jerkbait I would rather have tied on than a LC slender pointer 97mr in ghost minnow. I caught 123 fish one day using this bait in September and it will always have a place in my tackle box. From my experience pointer 78 and 100sp work better in the spring and the slender pointers work better in the fall but do not take this as gospel only a starting point.
