Super User Tin Posted November 23, 2008 Super User Posted November 23, 2008 Free advertising? :-? : Other companies will be lining up at your door soon. Are you doing it for intimidation or something?
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Free advertising? :-? : Other companies will be lining up at your door soon. Are you doing it for intimidation or something? ?? You think? I don't. Nothing personal and not a slam as you obviously have no problem with this scenario, but most people would associate someone wrapping their boat in another companies name for free as a "wanna be". Usually not a trait sought out when handing out real sponsorships. JMO As far as intimidation, I'd be much more intimidated by someone who's sponsorships came from winning tournaments and moving product through endorsement.
bassdude71 Posted November 24, 2008 Author Posted November 24, 2008 the Co. is already one of my sponsors for my tournaments that i put on They pay me for advertisement on my web pages and at each tournament..They asked me to put the wrap on the boat..They where going to get a billboard on the side of the road..They would certainly get more looks on our boat going down the road and at every tournament i fish than one spot on the road...My other sponsor is starting to wrap boats and wanted some exposer for is company...I didnt pay for the wrap..Its a win win situtation for everyone...I DONT EXPECT ANYTHING..A boat doesnt win tournaments. The Angler does..
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted November 25, 2008 Super User Posted November 25, 2008 Got a local sponsor today.. Now they want to wrap our boat with there Company name..My partner is excied to get it done...The Company thinks it will be great advertisement..Just to see it going across the lake.. 8-) 8-) You're original post indicates that it is a brand new sponsorship, not someone that you have an existing business relationship with. On here, and in this section especially, you may as well expect people to call your bluff. Like I said, your original post leads a reader to think that you JUST got a sponsor (today). Wayne
bassdude71 Posted November 26, 2008 Author Posted November 26, 2008 As a fishing sponsor it is new, but i have known them several years, as my company i work for makes delivery's to them not anything to to do with fishing...
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 As a fishing sponsor it is new, but i have known them several years, as my company i work for makes delivery's to them not anything to to do with fishing... That's not a sponsor, that's someone you are doing a favor for, has nothing to do with sponsorship. If you should pursue real sponsorships in the future, don't mention this, it won't reflect well.
bassdude71 Posted November 27, 2008 Author Posted November 27, 2008 They are Both sponsors of my tournament trail that i am a director of..And the one sponsor.. is wrapping the boat For both Company's as Advertisement.. I think i know how to get sponsors .Dont be Hate n... look at my sig
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 No one's hating, just trying to help you avoid looking like "that guy", especially being an ABA director. Input is given for you to take or discard, it's what this section is about. We all need to remember that being sponsored all balances on how the public perceives you and the product you are representing. That's why this section is so helpful,....we ARE the public. Want to know what they'll think? Ask US,...we ARE them. I see your sig., but I don't see your point. I've Internationally represented for over 40 companies from Visa and Subaru all way to Snapple and Power Bar, doesn't mean I'm not open to learn.
Super User Tin Posted November 27, 2008 Super User Posted November 27, 2008 No one's hating, just trying to help you avoid looking like "that guy", especially being an ABA director. And that's exactly how you came off.
bassdude71 Posted November 27, 2008 Author Posted November 27, 2008 Ok..Sorry for wanting to be excited about my NEW SPONSOR.. see yea..
FinAddicts Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Dont be Hate n... look at my sig Classic. You are not listed on any of your signatures pro staff rosters. We won't "hate" if you don't "pose", deal?
bassdude71 Posted November 28, 2008 Author Posted November 28, 2008 First i dont have to be on there pro staff to be a sponsor..There are diff levels of sponsors...In my tournaments they are local sponsors..Giving me product to give away at my tournaments..All my local sponsors are Kistler rods Zoom Baits Rat-l-trap Tomball ford Double daves pizza papa's Icehouse And i am on none of there pro staffs....
