crypticstatic Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 I've tried a search but didn't come up with an answer I was looking for so here's my question. I was wondering what color swim bait I should use in the lake that I fish. I've been looking at swim baits by SPRO, MattLures and etc and some of them have the soft swim baits while others have the hard swim baits. As far as the hard swim baits go dos it really matter if I go with a female bluegil or a male bluegil series hard bait or anytype of sunfish bait? I'm really at odds with the soft swim bait colors. I fish stained green to fairly clear waters so which colors would work best in that situation? Thanks in advance. Quote
ohiobassmaster93 Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 well i use a swimbait color according to the type of bait fish the bass eat. so far ive found a couple softswim baits in a gizzard shad patteren that have worked well for me Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted September 9, 2008 Super User Posted September 9, 2008 In clear and lightly stained water, an approximate match of the forage colors will help. In murkier water, lures that stand out more will usually garner more strikes. Quote
Super User Sam Posted September 9, 2008 Super User Posted September 9, 2008 And don't forget to consider putting some chartreuse on their tails if necessary. As for the sex of the bluegills, if you are having trouble considering either male or female, go with the gay ones. ;D ;D ;D Quote
