I think he is meeting with Michigan out of respect. Why would he leave what he as been building this team for 6 years and now has it where he wants it. And every coach in the SEC is in the hot seat. LSU will do what it takes to keep him there. Besides Michigan is a blank canvas and LSU is a masterpiece ;)

Ego. I'm no Michigan fan at all, but who wouldn't want to go to there Alma Mater and resurrect a program that has been struggling and bring it back to the top. I think Les Miles is a great coach. You don't win in the SEC for that long by pure luck. I don't know how much money Michigan could offer. I'm sure they owe Rich Rod for another year, so who knows how much they can put up. Money and ego always seems the trend. So, to answer your question why would he leave. I think he would just so he could say to the world " look how great i am". I think alot of coaches have done it in the past and there looks to more of it on the way.

P.S. Heard on the radio this morning that Rich Rod is being sued by the couple that bought his house from him here in WV. There apparently was a major leak causing damages to the home. The couple said they were never notified of any leaks or water damage by Rich when they purchased the home. Also, the couple said there was also a boat in the agreement. Rich rods lawyer said the house was sold "as is" and that there never was an agreement about the boat.

I wonder if Glenville would consider hiring Rich Rod back?

LSU moved up to 4th on Rivals College Recruiting poll.

The rankings may change as the Rivals guys are going to review them once again and move some teams around.

THE HAT can flat out sign players and THE HAT makes the games exciting.

At my age, I don't need exciting games. I need blowouts!!!  :D   :D   :D

LSU coordinator Gary Crowton heading to Maryland  ;)

Root Beer - the bloom is off the stem in Tuscalooser with Satan. For a team that was crowned BCS champ before the season started and to lose lilke they did with a coach making over $4 million, there are many disillusioned Bamasux fans.  Satan better do better next year.

Catt - Crowton had to take it easy with George Jefferson as George had a problem reading and reacting to defenses. George can use his feet to get out of trouble while Mettenburger and General Lee cannot.

Should be fun to see the process THE HAT goes through to hire a new OC with Mettenberger getting ready to take some snaps.  :)

THE HAT & THE BEAR = Both have four 11-win seasons.  ;D   ;D   ;D

Tim Brando was saying on his radio show Crowton was an Xs & Os guy not a QB coach and that Crowton could not coach up talent. Timmy B also predicted the winner of the LSU/Bama game would be your 2011 national champions.

The defense is going to be nasty. I predict it to be as good as 2009 and dare I say 1992 defense? The stockpile of DL that coming in is just phenomenal.

Sam you've been knocking Saban and talking about how he's on his last ropes. If that ever happened there would be many many more upset Bama fans then you could imagine. I don't see them getting rid of Saban. He is one of, if not the top, college recruiter in college football. He may be an arrogant SOB that ticks off Little Bryant but he's a winner and he's turned their program around.

I can't argue that the winner of next seasons LSU-Bama game will have a legitimate shot at being the National Champion. However, as you all know anything can happen in the SEC.

Tricky Nick will leave for $$$

It want be Tennessee ;)

I agree Catt, Saban would leave for a better offer. I don't think Bama is going to make him leave though and that is what I meant. I saw some promise in DD and I hope the next change at UT made is the Athletic Director, not a coach.

Hey bmadd, not only is it wishful thinking but listening to the Finebaum show good Ole Nickie better get the Tide back to the BCS title game, and soon.

I do not think Nickie is the greatest coach in the world, as presented by the Bamasux fans.  I think he has some excellent assistant coaches that he burns out after a few years which keep his teams on top.

I guess I know too much about the man from my LSU contacts to really appreciate anything he does.

And once again, next year will be another wild and crazy SEC year so stay tuned.  :D

Finebaum is just stirring the pot. He's an idiot. Long as Saban beats Auburn, Tennessee, and LSU he is good. Just keep thinking wishfully and grouching about Saban leaving LSU.

Root Beer, actually we are glad Saban left.

He is an outstanding college coach but his temperament did not fit into the LSU culture.

Many friends working at LSU were glad to see him leave.

As for going to Bama, he made the right choice and as long as he wins 11-12 games a year he will be OK but the seat gets hotter and hotter without BCS National Championship titles.

As for Finebaum, he is always stirring up the pot as that is his gig. But I have seen him turn on Saban which was a total surprise and Finebaum has a lot of followers.

As I said above, this coming season will be another wild and crazy one in the SEC conference.  :D   :D   :D
