Haven't posted or visited the site in about 6 months, had some rough things come up.  My son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and had to be rushed to the hospital, my daughter was diagnosed with Aspergers syndrome which is a form of Autism so needless to say that my past 6 months have been hectic.

I am glad to be back on here and if anyone felt like I was ignoring or avoiding them I promise that I wasn't.  My wife and I have gotten things kinda settled back down so I look forward to being back here and actually doing a little fishing.

Welcome back! Sounds like your family has had a lot of adjustments to make. Aspergers (and autism in general) is rare in girls, isn't it?

Thanks for all of the kind remarks, feels good to be back. I do believe that Autism and Autism spectrum disorders are more common in males, but I guess it can happen to whom ever.

The harderst part for me as far as my daughter goes is that I just thought it was our parenting and I was really hard on her. The more I get adjusted to this the worse that I feel about my past actions and reactions to her.

For my son it has been the hardest though, he is 13 and lived 12 yers of life without or us not knowing of the diabetes and we are still kinda having problems with him checking his sugar like he should with the fact that he spends the majority of his day away from home and when he is at home he gets mad at us for making him . His answer to this is that normal kids don't have to do it. I am just hoping that it doesn't take another 5 day hospitilization for him to start taking it more seriously
