Super User burleytog Posted December 16, 2008 Super User Posted December 16, 2008 This ended up in my yard Saturday night. Girl said she swerved to miss a dog in the road, ran into a deep ditch, then rolled the car about 100'. Only problem with that story is that there aren't any dogs that run around the neighborhood. Like the state trooper said, hit the dog. Hitting the dog won't result in a ticket. My yard is a mess. Didn't help any that she landed in the wettest spot in the entire yard after it had rained 3.5". Super User bilgerat Posted December 16, 2008 Super User Posted December 16, 2008 Cmon, who you kidding ? Thats your secret deer weapon. Quote
Fisher of Men Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Funny thing. There have been alot of cars running into yards and homes recently here around the DFW area (almost one every night it seems). Is that Jimzee I see riding in the passenger seat? Quote
Bassboss Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Look on the bright side! At least it did not hit your boat right! ;D Quote
Super User burleytog Posted December 16, 2008 Author Super User Posted December 16, 2008 ....? Nah, I didn't see her, but when the tow driver turned the key on to load the thing, the radio was set on 11. The road she was on is very conducive to excessive speed. Young girl, not paying attention, rolled it. At least she didn't die. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted December 16, 2008 Super User Posted December 16, 2008 Look on the bright side! At least it did not hit your boat right! ;D I guess that means that she hit his boat wrong. Or maybe she hit his boat left. :-/ Quote
Super User Dan: Posted December 16, 2008 Super User Posted December 16, 2008 that car rolled 100 feet?!? Doesn't look too bad for that kind of crash Quote
Super User burleytog Posted December 16, 2008 Author Super User Posted December 16, 2008 It would barely move. Gave me a reason to use my new reciprocating saw to cut off the front bumper. ;D Quote
frogtog Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Thought you stayed in the mountains. Could we have a before and after of your yard? ;D Quote
Super User burleytog Posted December 16, 2008 Author Super User Posted December 16, 2008 Thought you stayed in the mountains. Could we have a before and after of your yard? ;D I got no before, but plenty of after. And besides, I keep all my junk cars in the back yard. Quote

Super User Gone_Phishin Posted December 16, 2008 Super User Posted December 16, 2008 The old 'dog in the road' excuse. I think I've used that one a time or two as a kid. Quote
TheBeast Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 I don't think it is totaled. That car is a 2008 and I just don't think the cost to repair it would be more than the car is worth. Swerved to miss a dog huh? Where's her cell phone? I know the people who own the car, Burley will probably be sued because he was at work and his wife was in bed and neither of them were instantaneously there to help and call an ambulance. Quote
Zel Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Maybe it was the ghost of Christmas present paying a visit to Jacob Burley. Quote
fathom Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 swerved to hit a dog, my butt...i was nowhere near burley's house that night. 8-) Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted December 16, 2008 Super User Posted December 16, 2008 Regardless of the facts or what actually happened... It's still Burley's fault! Quote
justfishin Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Probably Ol' Spot, the cell phone dog !!! Quote
Pitchinkid Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 I cant believe she got away from Burley. I figure she would be chained to the heater or thrown in the hole. "it puts the lotion on the skin or else it gets the hose again!" Quote
