rockstar17 Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 i recently bought the banjo minnows and i was told to jerk and then wait......jerk wait....repeat. ANY POINTERS?? Quote
Super User Sam Posted June 8, 2008 Super User Posted June 8, 2008 Fish 'em anyway you want. Then, take the minnows and fish them on a drop shot. Quote
Countryjoe07 Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 The jerk/wait method is good. You can vary the jerks a little from slight twitches to a little harder to get it swimming more. Depends how you want to present it. I guess you can to a jerk and reel faster retrieve but I would just use a spinner bait or lipless if I wanted to trigger the reaction strike. Quote

Yeah, they must be throwing up some infomercials or something. Last I heard about the banjo minnow, was when they were on an infomercial back in 1996.... I bought some then, and was not impressed. The ones I got back then had the "screw in the nose" type hooks, and the plastic was so weak, that the bait would easily rip free. I tried to just use a EWG worm hook, but the way the body is shaped didn't work too well either. I recommend just using a Zoom superfluke or Senko- with the twitch, twitch pause technique. I put my money on the Superfluke or Senko outfishing the banjo- 9 times out of 10. Quote
