srv1990 Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Saw Metallica live last night (Mon.) in St. Louis and it was an incredible show. They played a good mix of new (Death Magnetic) and old... following is the set list, a couple clips and a review: http://metallicatour2008.blogspot.com/ OK, so at 43 I'm not sure if I'm a 'Depends' guy or a 'Pampers' guy, but on Monday night I was a Pampers guy through and through, and loving every minute of it...! Super User skunked_again Posted November 19, 2008 Super User Posted November 19, 2008 download the mp3 version of the show. you will be glad you did. i listen to the kc show all the time. Quote
Infidel. Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 I saw Metallica live and though is was a decent show, I am glad I didn't have to pay for the tickets. All the old good songs from Kill'em All and Ride the Lightning were mixed together into one long song. Pretty lame if you ask me. The new album is there best attempt in a long time at being a metal band again but I think they should just give that hope up and go back to writting songs like "Mamma Said." Seriously, that sounds is better for them than anything else they have been doing. Quote

srv1990 Posted November 19, 2008 Author Posted November 19, 2008 download the mp3 version of the show. you will be glad you did. i listen to the kc show all the time. Downloaded it last night and burned it to a couple discs so I could listen to the show again at work today! Hey Infidel, can't say that I agree with you, at least not concerning the show I saw Monday. All songs, old and new, had very distinct breaks between them. They put on a great show, a sentiment echoed by several friends who attended separately, and who have all seen them live at least 3 times. Oh, and very funny RW... that's ok, after taking my kids to school the next morning and getting to work, I changed back to Depends mode... Quote

Infidel. Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Well I saw them back in 97 so maybe enough people have bitched about it since then. It was just after Load and the people in the pit were holding a big banner that read "No new s*!#" Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted November 21, 2008 Super User Posted November 21, 2008 where are you downloading the mp3's of the shows? Quote

srv1990 Posted November 22, 2008 Author Posted November 22, 2008 where are you downloading the mp3's of the shows? I downloaded the St. Louis show at: http://www.livemetallica.com/ It's $9.95 for the MP3 download of the entire show. There's another file version called FLAC for $12.95, but I didn't know enough about that file type to go that route. In addition to all the shows on their current tour, you can download some from much older tours/shows for free. Hey Sam, it does seem like they've been around forever, but they aren't much older than me... 44, 45, 45 and 46 yrs old. Quote
Super User Muddy Posted November 22, 2008 Super User Posted November 22, 2008 Geez a fella with SVR in his avatar starting a Metalica thread, what is the world coming to? : Quote
